I never said we didn't want one all summer, I said we couldn't get a decent one in. Ozdemir turned us down too, as did Yokoslu who went back to West Brom and Dor Peretz. I'm sure there were others as well.

We seemed to go for Woods and Simons as attainable options instead of ones that make a difference

Those surely weren’t the only defensive midfielder options within our budget. I’m not sure why the club didn’t try to pressure Brentford to let Onyeka come to us on loan with an option to buy to sweeten the KLP deal. But even if that wasn’t possible, there’s always options.

6 months on then it's realistic to expect that we are casting a wider net now the ownership is beginning to trust the local coaching/analytical talent.
****ing hope so anyway.

We need an enforcer in that midfield.

He’s a natural winger in a position we’ve been playing two ‘ordinary’ central midfielders, in a team that’s crying out for width. If he’s one of the best prospects in the country and he’s not good enough for the championship by 19, the England set up has very dark times ahead indeed.

He's not a natural winger though

HDF reckon we are after Ebiowei from Palace on loan. A winger (don't know which side). If true, suggests Rosie isn't happy with what we've got in terms of width

That would make sense. We clearly lack wingers, although injuries are a part of that.

Yeh watching Burnley yesterday and one glaring difference was their players with pace and ability to beat a man.

He is brilliant. Miles better than Vale and ready for mens football unlike Vale

Is that the guy who tore Fleming a new one at Derby away last season?

This was Reading taking their second or third corner in the first half, the only time the ref went over to tell him, it happened again before the equaliser was scored, the crowd were shouting at the ref, he did nothing. In the second half, he went over to tell the player again, at what point does something get done? Surely the second time he checks should be a booking, but nothing!
It’s the same as time wasting, what’s the point in letting people get away with it if it’s in the rules? What advantage does that little bit give them?

Fractions of inches in the corner…wrestling in the box meanwhile yards stolen at free kicks and throw ins. Faintly pointless
