Sinik looks like a right winger, everything’s on his right foot, the only left footed player today was Greaves, playing at LB, but is actually a CB, a bit of a reverse Gary Hobson, McShane.
Pelkas is a very marmite player, one week, looks like he could score for fun, next week, offside, looks uninspiring, uninterested. I’ve said it before, but as soon as I do, he scores or looks the part.
Overall, I think Rosie needs to make a big decision on him, before Acun splashes out a few million by mistake, or because he’s worth it.
Without Oscar we’re really short up front, at the back we need to tighten up & stop with the silly mistakes.
I did like the corner routine though.

Tetteh was definitely a huge loss he was doing pretty decent up top but most importantly added a lot of height on set pieces

Really disappointing way to lose the game, but thought Longman was fantastic otherwise, some great runs and movement off the ball, and some clever flicks that on another day end up in the back of the net.

Thought that was one of Seri's worst games for us, rounded off with a terrible dive.

Just like Cardiff, we started well, took full control of the game. Silly mistake, sucker punch, heads drop. You can see the intensity and the swagger get sucked out of the players.

Cardiff managed to bag another but they were so poor, we went and scored from nothing, tails up, get the quick fire double. Reading were a bit different, we blew them away to start with, and we should have finished them off. The turning point was missing the open goal, they became resilient. We definitely didn’t deserve to lose that game, we will play worse and win.

But we have a team clearly lacking in character, drive and neversaydieness (that’s a proper Dowieism)

Big rebuild next summer, shipping out the majority of this summers arrivals and starting afresh with a plan to build a solid team of players that complement each other. Not many of the current 35 I would make a strong case for keeping here next season.

Having slept on it, and getting over the disappointment of losing the game in the last minute, I would have taken a Win/Draw/Loss for these 3 games before they started, if it had been a loss first a draw at Cardiff and then a win yesterday, we would all be in a different frame of mind.

IMO we are already looking better than we have previously, even after they equalised until they scored in the last minute they hardly had any chances. In the past, we would have capitulated and lost by a heavy score. We have to give LR time, I think he has already improved things, but in time and getting players back, I'm sure things will improve with our home form.

On the game, the Ref was awful, particularly the foul by Doch which led to the goal was never a foul, it's as if they played for it by the player rolling around as if he had been pol axed to give Carrol a chance with his head. Overall, not a great performance, we did look a bit off it, but should have gotten at least a draw and didn't deserve the lose the game.

A big month now for LR to work with the players, looking forward to the 2nd half of the season.

I think we'll try and shift on some fringe players in January and that may free up a bit of space in the squad and the budget.Personally,I don't see any 'blow your socks off' signings coming this season.I think the chips are down, the money's been spent and we sink or swim by the business that's already been done?
Blow your socks off signings? Wake up and smell the coffee old shag.

Yesterday’s game turned on the toss of a coin (or rather the blow or not of the ref’s whistle) and could just as easily have gone the other way. And in that case we’d have been four points off the play off places. That’s how congested this league is.
All ifs and buts old shag.

I must admit when Greaves scored early on I got quite moist with the thought of a goal fest until the curse of Richie Appleby appeared from the back of the south stand. As the match wore on it was inevitable that the Berkshire bumming was about to rear it's head. Heart break in stoppage time as Reading went plum deep.

Once we have Traore, Tetteh and Ali back we probably have enough at the attacking end of the pitch. Remember we have M'hand also. Another out and out striker option to cover injuries and suspensions without having to play Longman out of position or rely on Smith would be nice, but I do think we need to tweak the spine of that midfield still, and possibly another centre half.

Wouldn't be a huge surprise to me if Vale and Simons went back to Chelsea, and I'm sure we'd listen to offers for Cannon, Williams and Smith at the very least.

Still think our summer business was utterly bizarre. Why sign a youngster on loan for a year if he’s not going to play until December at the earliest. Ridiculous.

This was Reading taking their second or third corner in the first half, the only time the ref went over to tell him, it happened again before the equaliser was scored, the crowd were shouting at the ref, he did nothing. In the second half, he went over to tell the player again, at what point does something get done? Surely the second time he checks should be a booking, but nothing!
It’s the same as time wasting, what’s the point in letting people get away with it if it’s in the rules? What advantage does that little bit give them?
