Not sure about weapons but in the Balkans football clubs are linked with political parties, their supporter groups head honchos often providing security for politicians. In return supporter groups get paid travel, beer and food money. I presume a similar situation exists in other eastern European countries. Have mentioned on here before about OFK Belgrade who played Hull City. OFF owned now by the singer Ceca who was married to the dodgy character Arcan until he was assinated.
On the face if it Rosenior obviously still has a burning affection for City which is great to hear. Would imagine everyone wants the guy to succeed myself included and I personally genuinely hope it all goes well for him at the club again. Can only add the ambitious Turk would arguably settle for some kind of progress and stability this season with a defined game plan based around who we have at the club player wise and kick on from there next year or season. Fans will need patience and there will be the usual low and high spots but overall Liam seems to think he can work with who he has and if the need arises and one or two additions to the squad are needed come January you would imagine that situation has already been agreed upon. UTT.
If we can finish top half this season, or there or there abouts, it's been a brilliant step forward. There's no reason we can't given what we've seen and the quality of player we have at the club. Like Rosie said, we need to look at the squad we have before we decide what we need, we still haven't seen M'Hand or Traore, or much of Vale or Simons. Presumably Scott, Williams, Cannon, C. Jones and Smith will be allowed to move on. Still have Allahyar and Tetteh to come back too. His first priority should be tying Doc down to a new contract, we don't want that dragging on. We have the option, but it would really show commitment in the long term and his best years are still ahead of him. If he gets a call up to a Scotland or Ireland squad he might start attracting unwanted attention. Pelkas has a clause for a permanent fee, get him signed up. Despite what many have said about him, I'd also be buying Baxter. A 23 year old keeper with two seasons of Championship football is a prized asset. Salah we will have to wait and see, there's a clause there (a pretty affordable, less than a million pounds one) and given his potential (and the astonishment from Arsenal's fans) it's tempting, but without seeing him play I couldn't make a call.
Does she still own them Balkan? Remember when we played them she sat in the dug out instead of the Director's box. She went shopping in Prinny Quay and was guarded by a lot of dodgy looking twats.
Individual players is down to the manager so whilst we might have slightly different options and opinions as fans at the end of the day it’s the club that decides on who does, and does not get another contract. The biggest and most obvious concerns certainly that I can see is need to us playing at a higher more consistent level for the full 90 mins, On top of that and again without going overboard given the time Liam has been here is what seems to be a never ending catalogue of individual mistakes defensively. I personally think every player defensively has a mistake in them especially under pressure but without wanting to take away the positives of late that again is something Rosenior has time to correct and improve. Must dash..the grandkids are giving me earache to take then to the game. UTT.
I think the club is in a state of limbo, still exists but not playing or trading. The ground will be worth fair bit for other development.
Still wondering who the guy sat next to Acun at the Reading game was/is. He had a computer on his lap and an earpiece. Anyone know
if so that is a significant coup. The guy has a significant reputation. And is credited for much of the improvments of Brightons play not just on the pitch but also the quality of the signings.
