Some quotes from Acun regarding Shota and Liam -

Think they bought technical players to play positive football but Shota wanted them to be mostly defensive , that didn’t sit well with Acun I see. Rosie looks to be using the technical skill better- early days tho but signs are good - there I go getting hopeful again !!!
THE FOOTBALL I AM LOOKING FOR IS THE FOOTBALL THAT FENERBAHÇE IS PLAYING RIGHT NOW”
Describing the separation process of Shota Arveladze, Acun Ilıcalı said, “Shota was very successful in Hull City last year. This year we had only one difference of opinion. Our football mind transferred technical players. The teacher also thought more defensively about this. This was also a difference of opinion. Success will not come if we are not all on the same side. The football I'm looking for in Hull City is the football Fenerbahce plays right now. The players we brought came to play this football.”

“MIND STATED IN EMRE BELÖZOĞLU!”
Underlining that Emre Belözoğlu would like to see him as a coach in Hull City, Acun Ilıcalı said, “I met with two of the most important coaches in the world. My mind has always stayed with our Emre Belözoğlu. I always had an Emre Belözoğlu in my mind. Emre's concentration on football, new generation and offensive football… It always impressed me. I found Liam Rosenior, English Emre Belözoğlu. He is an incredibly equipped man.”

Talking about the difficulty of the Championship, Acun Ilıcalı said, “Championship is the hardest league in the world. Each match has 3 possibilities. I do not claim that we will get to the Premier League immediately, but I see a very high probability of success. We have high hopes for Liam Rosenior. This year will be our year of adjustment. We will be more ambitious next year,” he said.

So, Rosie is an 'incredibly equipped man', according to Acun.

If he knows about that, then the appointment process must have been a lot, lot more detailed than usual... <laugh>

Could someone tell me what style of football are Fenerbahçe playing right now?

I’ve seen them a few times this season, they are playing a 2-3-5, two half backs in defence, hitting long balls to wingers to run on to and rapid counter attacks.

Yes, but could they do it in front of the swaying masses in a febrile MKM? They might freeze. Don’t forget, jumping up and down is dangerous and potentially lethal in the upper tier where just standing up is dangerous..<laugh>

Can you imagine the HDM headlines, the local plods reaction and the FAs reaction.....

Notice the lack of stewards? Yet no fatalities or horrific injuries like we are told would happen if anyone stood up in West Upper.

I wonder how much trouble they actually have at games over there, I know it was bad in years gone by, but no idea these days

Don’t know but we have acres of segregation at the MKM and stewards everywhere and, uniquely, stood between our own fans.
Remember watching a documentary about Turkish football a few years ago. All shouting and gesticulating at each other, calling each other all sorts and dishing out insults but nothing happening. Then it all kicked off big style. One lot had shouted at the other that their mothers drank alcohol.

Definitely an eye opener
It's a bit odd if true, but the "weapons" that the team buses are allegedly taking in to the stadium for the hooligans are "flares and smoke bombs".

I think it might be a little misleading by the article talking about stabbings and a slow criminal justice system, then going straight into the next paragraph about the club smuggling in smoke bombs.

It sounds a bit like the way the HDM go on about crowd violence by City fans after a flare goes off in the away end at the MKM.

Listening to Liam speak is just so refreshing , whatever ideas he has at least he'll
be able to communicate them to the players.
