Hey Lambbhuna...is your name Doyle Lonnegan?...remember him?... he was the big nob in The Sting who was a tad touchy about his name and had no sense of humour...,just like you...he got his comeuppance in the end...
As you know No. 1 i ve met Mr. Pearson once at a game. He was sincere, honest, friendly and very down to earth. In fact we had a good laugh by the end of the game we were watching. His persona wasnt just a PR exercise at all. I would imagine any committed players would soon be advocates. I am sure that those whose egos exceed their ability would soon be left to their own devices in the slow lane. I am a definate Pearson convert on the strength of one meeting!
I thought it was were he lived in London (mayfair posh tw*t) but he said earlier he lives near wembly (not so posh )
It's just a Carnaby Street sign, I thought it went with the name, but it's a bit **** and I keep meaning to find something else. I don't live in Wembley, I live in glorious East Yorkshire, I'm just in London a couple of days a week and my office is in Wembley(if I lived in London full time, it certainly wouldn't be there).
I assumed it was a mod connection as Carnaby Street was the hip place to be seen in the 60s (ol' swinging Lahdan).
My fault, i didnt do enough research. I bit off topic but slightly on topic with the mods, what did you think when you first saw sting as a bus boy?
Out of 30 odd signings he made I can only think of 4 he'd worked with at Bolton Mendy, Stelios, Pedersen, and Okocha. Hardly forever going back to his old club.
geez I didn't realise ...........Did we really let Brownie select over 30 players in 2 seasons ,there is no wonder we got relegated after the euphoria bubble burst. Lets be honest among with his many other failings PHIL BROWN was totally inept at man selection & man management. It's still hard to come to terms with the fact we got promotion inspite of him. Deano and Campbell upfront and Turner and Brown at the back with Myhill pulling out great saves along with great team spirit and self destruction of a couple of contenders were the reason we managed it after 104 years Brown just got lucky. I doubt in the years to come he will ever again be in the spotlight of success as a manager ...........assistant maybe.
No, he was here nearly twice that long. Both windows in 09/10, 08/09, 07/08, and the January window in 06/07 after he took over in the December. I think about 20 of the signings were in the PL and only 2 of those were ones he knew from Bolton.
......wasnt Sting a Bell Boy (Gotta Get Running Now!)? Of course he was the original No. 1. What is a Bus Boy anyway? Sounds like someone who has a liking for EYMS?
hahahahahaha....i dont know how quick that was but nice one anyway (smiley thumbs up type icon inserted but I dont know how to do it!!!)
