New Manager

I feel as if Acun is prepared to have Dawson till the World Cup to let the manager have those 4 weeks as a mini pre-season. Logical thing to me would be to get someone in ASAP, let them see the team and then have the 4 weeks to build on it.

I don't see Acun has the luxury of those choices. I think he can't find anybody suitable who wants the job.

 

Agreed. Struggling to reconcile this idea of using have many top candidates applying (Acun’s words) with an approach of ‘no rush’.

 

It's the same as players. Certain clubs with certain budgets compete for the same players and managers. Each club has a list in order of preference, each player or coach also has a list in order of preference and there's quite often a domino effect once the clubs higher up in the food chain start making decisions.

 

We can’t really be waiting on other teams though. Things are going to get worse before they get better on current trajectory.

 

We certainly need a winner. This division swallows up teams not prepared or strong enough for it.

Parker, Bielsa are still available. Somewhat left field, Michael O'Neill and Darren Ferguson both have experience at this level too - Ferguson's teams generally didn't play bad football. I suspect neither of the latter are "sexy" enough for Acun though.

Right now we just need someone in who can help the squad carve out a couple of clean sheets...

There’s loads of managers I’d be happy with at this point who id have confidence in at least giving us a chance of picking up some points, Dawson isn’t one of them.

Dawson seems to be getting a disproportionate amount of grief after only 3 games in charge.

 

I’ve not seen Dawson get any grief to be honest, his subs at times have been odd.

 

Another week or two and we’d accept Robbie Keane, even swanny suggested warnock and he hates him

 

Being fair both McCann's and Shota's subs were equally odd. Think it reflects the absence of balance in the squad more than managerial ineptitude.

 

Whoever manages us, people say the subs are wrong. Dawson isn't the solution but he's not the problem either and shouldn't be taking any stick for a team that was performing badly long before he was managing it.

 

Whoever gets the job, can they please tell our players that you are allowed to throw the ball forwards when you get a throw-in?
