Guess there's a reason Fulham released him. Don't see him sticking around next season.

Seri looks like a decent player but seems unwilling to put a serious shift in.Maybe a new coach would bring about the required improvement.

Obviously Seri did well at Fulham. Maybe because Silva knew how to get the best out of him, maybe because he had better players around him. For me he looks a luxury player and not someone who will grab a game by the scruff of the neck

He's definitely a 'build a team around him' player. If you're not prepared to do this then he becomes a liability.

Problem is that you need to be really, really good to be awarded a team built around you scenario and I don't think that he's actually that good.

We once signed a Frenchman on loan who was that good, but failed to build a team around him and it all went tits up rather quickly.

He did ok but he only played about two-thirds of their season. Was definitely an icing on the cake player.

I don't think he'll be the only one. There are a few players in that squad who appear to have come for a jolly!
I really hope we get a manager who's a right nasty bastard who'll come in and sort the wheat from the chaff.

He also had Harrison Reed next to him doing the hard yards.

Same with Tufan, he had Cleverley next to him.

I’m still not convinced on Ozan.

Think he had a good game vs Wigan but think that may have been more down to how direct they was to Keane/Magennis and didn’t take advantage of him in the middle two.

Game at Huddersfield felt like it passed him by a little bit.

Slater seems to get away with murder at the minute. He’s been **** for ages, always out of position, chasing shadows and hides when we are in possession. Needs dropping and thankfully has to be on Sunday

Agreed. I would be quite happy to see a midfield 3 of Woods, Docherty and Seri at the minute.

Yes, good point. Wigan were very direct and therefore the issue of teams passing through our midfield was less of an issue. Having said that, I did still think he did quite well. I really feel we have to stick with something for a game or two rather than constantly changing so I'd try him in that position again this weekend.

God no, Seri and Woods is the most immobile midfield in the league. We’d get absolutely destroyed with those 2 in the same midfield which makes the signing of them both in one window even weirder.

He played well in a totally different team. It was crazy for the powers that be to think they could bring in a number of talented individuals and they'd instantly do well as a team.

Somewhat reminds me of all those CDMs we've had that were unsung heroes (i.e. Ashbee), no one seemed to considered the grafters we need along side these guys.

I did think that but thought I’d maybe seen enough graft from Woods to counteract it. Had he been available, I would’ve still preferred Slater to be in that 3 over Woods.

I think Slater will struggle to get back in after his suspension. He's been woeful for weeks and doesn't affect games in a positive way anymore.

Yeah I don't mind Woods, seems mobile to me, but does seem to get overwhelmed when pressed.

Seri isnt being helped by those around him, when you see him in space constantly but you see Alfie jones rather than pass to him quickly either carry it forward past him thinking hes prime Beckenbauer, or Coyle/Elder try and hit a 40 yard hollywood ball straight to the opposition no wonder hes not involved in games as much.

We arnt playing to some players strengths, alot of our early games we had very low possession and didnt get the ball to players like Seri or Tufan anywhere near enough.

Wouldnt mind seeing Doherty sitting and providing the legs and mobility at the base of midfield, as a few have said Slater gets away with murder, his tracking back and marking are terrible gets caught not concentrating or marking alot. Seems to have a cult that worship him. Imo we have 3 very similar players in Seri, Woods and Slater. Very lop sided recruitment by Acun.

City remain hopeful of an appointment before the Tigers return to the MKM Stadium to face Blackburn Rovers in the final game of October with the World Cup break looming large on the horizon.

The Tigers have four games next month against Middlesbrough, Millwall, Cardiff City and Reading before the Championship takes a month-long pause until December.

Ilicali is understood to be mindful of the need to make an appointment sooner rather than later and not allow the situation to drift on indefinitely but also accepts the importance of attracting the right man for the job.

Carlos Carvalhal and Carlos Corberan were both considered prior to talks with Martins, but those discussions were not progressed and though the betting market for Martins accelerated on Monday evening, talks with the Portuguese had not resumed.

City are not the only second-tier club on the lookout for a new boss, with West Brom, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City all without permanent managers.

I see him the exact opposite to that. Funny old game. Doesn’t get on the ball enough for me

I don't see anything from him at all, I think he's been poor so far and I wouldn't start him ahead of anyone.
