I suppose my point is that they seemingly haven't interviewed Edwards yet, yet are supposedly in 'advanced' talks with Martins (usually reads as: close to a done deal).
They interviewed Edwards yesterday and according to their local rag, they have no interest in Martins.
According to HT2, there is some quite fundamental issues with regards to getting Pedro over the line here anyway, whether Wolves are interested or not.
Turning into a **** show managerial wise which to be honest started with Shota. Acun went to a lot of trouble and expense buying City so why would you not sort your leadership out first with a strong leader both on and off the pitch. Someone needs to get a grip on this sadly unbalanced squad and get them playing. It’s a worry.
If that's true, then we need to move on and hire somebody else. It's gone very quiet since last week when the news broke about the deal collapsing. Since then we haven't been linked with anyone in almost a week. It's bizarre for a club in our position. From the outside looking in it seems that Acun still wants Martins and is maybe waiting to see what Wolves do before going back in for him. As Acun said "We have been inundated with interest from high-calibre coaches around the world" If that was true, what are we waiting for? I think Acun is bigging us up in the media because the reality is maybe we've not had the interest that he expected.
Maybe Acun is just doing things a little more quietly after the Martins deal fell through, it would be both sensible and preferable.
He'll win when we have a manager in the building who has some of the credentials he claims all interested applicants have.
One minute we want transparency, then we don't because it's a circus, then it goes quiet and we assume nothing is going on. One minute he's picking the team, the next breath we're not happy prize assets aren't playing. The fact is, we know very little about how he's running the club. Unorthodox? Yes, but he's learning. Does he want us to succeed? Why wouldn't he? Is he overly involved? Possibly, but if so, then he is in all areas... Just look at the level of sponsorship and support he's brought in... Don't see anybody knocking that aspect of it. Just picking gossip to jump all over and turn it into as big a negative as possible. Hiring Shota was a mistake. We've been poor on the pitch for a few years now and despite the new signings which are very much finding their feet in inconsistent times right now, we still have very much a League 1 nucleus. With a good manager and more time for the new signings the hope would be for these L1 lads to raise their game. It's a project. It'll take time. Don't take Acun's quotes too literally. The losing 4-3 thing wind's me up. It's obvious what he means. He wants to see us play exciting football, and if we pick up narrow losses in doing so, at least it's more entertaining. People that knock that quote are the same ones saying they wouldn't go to games anymore if we hired a 'dull' football manager.
When did we not want transparency? When did we complain about 'prize assets' not playing? Which prize assets?
Seri is the best "caught in possession" I've ever seen. Great player but a great liability as well, should know better as he has played in the Championship before.
