It was Comedy Of Errors, and his main rival was Lanzarote, so Reebok got the answer.

Comedy Of Errors won the Champion Hurdle, then lost it to Lanzarote, and then won it back the following year, beating Lanzarote. I think that makes them pretty big rivals
Yep. Good question Shergar and well done Tam and Reebok.

You are right of course Reebok. Night Nurse was beaten by Little Owl in the 1981 Gold Cup, 4 years after Lanzarote died. But I'd forgotten that their hurdling careers were closer. <ok>

Are they the only 2 to have won the Triumph and Champion? It seems too unbelievable if it is!

Which is the only horse to win the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, Christmas Hurdle and Champion Hurdle in the same season?

Beeforsalmon, well done!
They are the only 2 horses that won the Champion Hurdle the year after they won the Triumph Hurdle.
Kribensis and Clair Soleil won both races but not in successive years ie. Triumph then Champion two years later.
Quite surprising really that only 4 horses have managed the double! That's what Zarkandar has on his plate this season!

Yep. It was Kribensis.

Zarkandar must be better than Katchit. Was it a poor year when Katchit won the Champion Hurdle?

Piss poor.

I did love the little horse though. He was a proper little racehorse but hardly a vintage champion hurdler.

Tricky Ron - he said same season not same year - sneaky! But you didn't fool Tam or me :D

A quick footy one before I go

Name who said this and about whom ....

"The problem with _______ is his passing" "He can't pass a betting shop without going in!"

I got the quote slightly wrong, but the gist is the same! Neither of the two above, although there IS a horse racing connection (apart from the betting shops reference!)
