    Shergar, not an easy one that. I'd have a guess at Silver Buck, although it was probably before him.

    Tamerlo....I will give you a couple of clue's, as no one else seems to be getting anywhere.

    He was slightly younger than Silver Buck, and there eras did cross, though the horse in question was well past his peak, when Silver Buch was in his prime.

    The Horse in questions main rival throughout his career was named after a popular holiday destination:biggrin:

    I would have guessed Alverton but I think he was older than SB. My first thought was Little Owl but that isn't a resort.

    Night Nurse won just over £132,000 in prize money so could have been him but not a popular holiday destination, whereas Lanzarote was.

    That's why my first thought was Little Owl. I thought his main opposition was Little Owl and Night Nurse but neither of these fit the other part of the clue.

    Do you know the answer Oddy?

    I think the answer is Night Nurse isn't it? Wasn't his main rival Lanzarote? Was he slightly younger than Silver Buck?

    So Lanzarote is almost certainly the popular holiday destination. I can't remember who his main opposition was. I thought Night Nurse's main opposition was Monksfield. However, with Night Nurse being my favourite hurdler/chaser at the time I do have a vague collection of him going through the £100,000 barrier. Just can't remember if he was the first.

    Problem is Lanzarote was well before Night Nurse so if Lanzarote is the holiday resort Night Nurse can't be the answer.

    It was Comedy Of Errors, and his main rival was Lanzarote, so Reebok got the answer.

    Comedy Of Errors won the Champion Hurdle, then lost it to Lanzarote, and then won it back the following year, beating Lanzarote. I think that makes them pretty big rivals :biggrin:
