Martins has a really modern style it would be a real statement if we brought him in. Carvalhal would also be good.
To be honest I'd still prefer either Edwards or Corberan - the two who Boro are going after with good reason, but would settle for Carvalhal if need be.
Considering how Coberan actually achieved success as a manager I don’t think he would be either… 3 ****house centre halves and good wing backs. 5 things we don’t have, don’t have player on Lewis O’Briens level either. That being said I still think he’d be a good appointment
I don't get the fascination with Coberan. He'd be fine, but he doesn't play good stuff which is a key requirement Edwards, not a chance, he's just failed at Watford with a very good squad. It was always a huge ask for him to jump from L2.
Martins is super boring his teams defend very well but the attack not so good. Carvalhal is more atacking more eye catching football and he's a great spokesman.
Whoever it is I do not envy them. Scattergun recruitment an absolute shambles of a team with no fight or passion. I’d take 4th bottom now.
When I criticised the approach over summer I was called a panty wetter. We need a lot of work and proper management. And I don't just mean of the team.
His favourite XI would pick itself with Judas on the naughty step. He’d also be too easy to crucify if he fails to pull off a miracle (not Smokey Robinson).
Hopefully a few home truths were shared by Shota in that final meeting and Acun will stop trying to be the main character. Love how invested he is don’t love some of the things that he is invested in. Whilst Shota wasn’t the right man for the job at any stage of his tenure hopefully as a friend of his he can help prevent us becoming a basket case again within a year.
We seem so broken that it will take any new manager a lot of time to turn this around. It may get (seem) worse before it gets better. I would be getting Doc straight in.
He could produce miracles! How did he fail? They were about 10th with a new manager at a new level. If they wanted instant success, Edwards was probably not the right choice.
