They've always had "millions of fans worlwide".
Biggest club in the world, let alone Yorkshire.
(*cough)
Only club in Yorkshire to have a crowd over 70,000. One of only 14 clubs, and the only one in Yorkshire, to have averaged 40,000 for a season. Wednesday fans have never made claims about worldwide fans. I can’t abide Wednesday, they are on a par with TWS on my detestation chart, but all this stuff comes from City fans.
Anyone else like to see Scott Parker get the job? A young manager who's already had 2 promotions to the prem with 2 different clubs, 1 via playoff's and the other automatic.. thats quite impressive.

Interesting read on his style of play... likes a 4231, double pivot in midfield, his Bournemouth side finished the season winning promotion and conceded the least amount of goals.
Not really
And yet we had our most successful seasons after he retiredSmallwood was never the answer, but realistically, he’s the only decent player we’ve had since Ashbee to play that role. He’s not been replaced.
They have delusions of grandeur. You should hear them on phone ins - like they have a sense of entitlement cos they once got 70k.
Most of them living on past glories from days when the world was very different.
Some of our fans have a rather skewed view of things as well. Think 15,000 is a great crowd. And yet we had our most successful seasons after he retired
Must be nice to have past glories to live on.Some of our fans have a rather skewed view of things as well. Think 15,000 is a great crowd.
A lot of success come from hiring managers with no experience in recent years. Farke, Wagner, Coberan all examples of this. We need a proven track record of improving players not a history of managing in the division. Turning our noses up at foreign coaches is really ironic considering how long it’s been since an English manager won the top flight.
I don't think it is ironic really. Although I am ambivalent as to who it is or what experience they bring, your last sentence is a little naive seeing as there aren't that many English coaches who have been given an opportunity with a top end spending premier league outfit. I am not up with all the information as some of you on here but if someone could name the last English manager who had a go with the top spenders?
Was probably Alex.
Before that maybe Keegan, Dagliesh, Graham at Arsenal? Pearce at Man C? O'Neil?
It's a good point, but I think it's mainly because the bigger spenders have been on the whole international owners, impose international coaching structures and international coaches are more used to working within that structure.
If you're Abramovich in the early noughties do you :A - bring in a multi-tier recruitment, scouting and development system then sign Mourinho, or do you employ a Steve Bruce, Greame Souness, Bryan Robson, Peter Reid type and give them an open chequebook and **** off back to your Yacht?
He did say English. Which rules out some of the ones you mention. Th last English manager to win the title was Howard Wilkinson with TWS.

Says a lot about the difference in culture between the 'face-workers' in English football, and where the money is coming from and the kind of securities the moneymen desire.
They have to earn the right get a shot at the top clubs. Potter has done that. Couldn’t name another top English coach who’d have a chance at one of the top 6. You’d think if they were good enough they’d get a chance but they don’t. That’s not a coincidence.I don't think it is ironic really. Could it be someone already in a job? Acun said they won’t be installed for Wednesday. Could be because he needs to sort out compensation
