Brewdoggate may have quite a bit of truth in it. Especially Shota’s animated performances on the touchline being for show. When a coach is ranting and raving like that during a match, it’s often a sign of a lack of communication and understanding between coach and players. Not always the case, but if the players all knew their roles from training, a coach wouldn’t need to chew them out during games as much.

Can you remind me what was said during the brewdog incident & which playing was spilling the beans. Cheers

I know this debate has been had before on here and it caused a bit of pettiness, maybe it’s not worth reigniting it, but what exactly is Ozan’s best position?

I don’t think he’s a ‘10’ or a ‘6’. He’s obviously a fantastically talented player technically.
He's definately not a centre half

Supposedly, Elder got a little drunk and told a fan in a Brewdog bar that none of the players really rate Shota and think his antics on the touchline are for the cameras and aren’t useful instructions, Elder thinks Acun will ruin City, Honeyman’s option was activated but Kesler told him via WhatsApp that they weren’t offering him a new deal, Eaves and Smallwood were being let go, Moncur was the best player in training and some other stuff I can’t remember.

He also said blue stratos is better than brut and he puts Mayo on his chips.

So make of all that what you will.

Seri should be dropped at the weekend, I think a message needs sending out if Shota is to give this one last hurrah. Tufan, while very lazy looking last week, at least looked like he might produce something decent, Seri just bottled everything and didn't look arsed at all. I'd have hauled him off after half an hour.

Sinik should be fit for Luton to at least make the bench, I'm excited to see what he can produce.
Id play Slater next to Ozan deep with Docherty in front of them.

Why did everyone hate Elder for this? Seemed like he got a lot of stick and the only point I really have issue with is Acun ruining city (although if all your mates are being sold and released and being replaced with a shotgun approach of Turkish based players with a manager with no experience who's the owners mate I can see why he wasn't massively keen)

So we have a window of 2 weeks, we're a new coach/manager can try and mould the players we have into an effective unit, or should I say more effective then we have seen so far. However rather then do this, it seems we are stuck with our current incumbent to waste another 2 weeks stood scratching his head and his arse looking puzzled and none plussed as to how to remedy the sh1t shows we have seen recently.
Now while I'm firmly in the Acun camp, and welcome.his enthusiasm towards us,but I have to say this seems like a major own goal. Just bite the bullet, realise your mate hasn't got a clue how to motivate or organise the squad we have assembled, and get rid ffs ! Bring someone in who can not only organise, but can get their message across to the players in words they can understand.

This. Giving Shota, who seems to be a really nice guy, another 2 weeks until the Luton game is just prolonging the agony, he appeared in the last interview to be shot, lost and mildly depressed. He’s just on a hiding to nothing - he alluded to losing a good number of players to international footy, who will be back just before the Luton match. He’s been unable to get his ideas and thoughts across to them in several months now, he ain’t going to do it overnight before the Luton game. I cannot see anything other than Luton, who are fast, fluid, having a field day. It would be the kinder thing to let him go. I think it also says a lot about Peter De Dutch & Andy Dawson that they’d rather let Shota struggle on than put in temp charge.

I hope I’m wrong of course, just can’t see him turning this nightmare around, but good luck to the guy whatever.

Getting anyone in right now is going to be tough with Acun having his accident yesterday. Unless of course his next manager he’s lined up is from Turkey & he can do his dream speech with a broken arm.
Just out of curiosity, how much input has the Dutch assistant got? I never see him talking to Shota.
Yes just like the team management is a team sport there must be some input from the assistant manager and first team coach otherwise what’s the point of having them. If Shota has not got it you would hope the PVD has some nous to help right the ship. However I suspect none of us on here have a clue what he does or whether he is very effective at it.

I agree re Dawson and PVD why are they not stepping up to help right the ship.

Maybe they're, in their own way of thinking, not wanting to be tarred with the same brush as Shota, and are letting him sink alone. Tricky and risky as the Owner or a new manager usually clears out the old assistants.
