Phillip came to me today, and said it was time to go. I looked at him and smiled, as I whispered that "I know" I then turned and looked behind me, and seen I was asleep. All my Family were around me, and I could hear them weep. I gently touched each shoulder, with Phillip by my side. Then I turned away and walked, with my Angel guide. Phillip held my hand, as he lead the way, to a world where Kings and Queens, are Monarch's every day. I was given a crown to wear or a halo known by some. The difference is up here, they are worn by everyone. I felt a sense of peace, my reign had seen its end. 70 years I had served my Country, as the peoples friend. Thank you for the years, for all your time and love. Now I am one of two again, in our Palace up above
Quite liked a story earlier today where they said she loved Balmoral and would often just go for walks on her own and random locals walking their dogs would bump into her on the local nature trails etc when walking their dogs. A few spoke in the local dialect, Doric, and she spoke it back to them and they couldn't belive it. And it reminded me of the Doric pub in Edinburgh tbh
There's been some great posts on this thread, @Somebodys pinched my sombrero a couple of yours really resonated with me. I wouldnt class myself as a royalist, but this has touched me more than I thought it would. Very rare I shed a tear over someone I never knew, but did tonight. R.I.P. Your Majesty. Maybe this isn't the time to add this, but I've never heard the National Anthem sung as passionately as what our fans did at Wembley at the play off final.
Thanks mate. I didn't serve but have the upmost respect for those who did and do. Kneeling has become such a powerful image and why shouldn't we take the knee for the queen
If the image reflects your feelings Chunk, there is no need to delete it. Queen Elizabeth II did her bit during the war and her family served in the Armed Forces
Same here, I know the press commented on the where's and why fors. I just see 2 people who adored each other having a laugh
Our fans sang the National Anthem perfectly, good point mate. The Queen's passing has made me think of my Dad who was just another Geordie, miner, soldier. He went to war and always respected the Royal Family for the courage they gave him fighting up through Sicily, Italy and France. For that alone I have to respect the Queen .. ... now the Queen and my Dad are in the same place again.
