I thought there was an ex-Tigers thread but I cannot find it Saw Greg Olley play yesterday in the Wrexham Gateshead game. Despite Gateshead going down to 10-men and being a man down he played really well. Played as a #10 off the striker and was quite influential for them as they tried to find their way back into the game. They lost 3-1 in the end but he did well On a side, Paul Mullen is the most Vardy like player I've ever seen. He is playing well below his level (on £5k a week) as are some of the others. Ollie Palmer is decent upfront too as is the young lad at the back Max Cleworth . They should be playing League One level but think Mullen would score goals further up.
I think I’m right in saying that Olley has had a few offers from EFL clubs but has turned them down. Happy to stay in his lane.
Pelkas and Simons look nailed on tomorrow but can we expect anything else? Smith staying suggests they don't expect an attacking player to arrive. We've had an outstanding window but still feel we'll end up 1 or 2 short.
I think letting Smith go would’ve been daft anyway given our injury situation. Cannon only one id let go
Not sure why we are brining simmons in we have enough midfielders. Id prefer a LB. Elder is only good for when we are parking the bus only possibilities i can think of are -either hes basically free and chelsea are just giving him to us to gain experience or he will play CB and hopefully hes better with his feet and can help us build from the back. Seems unlikely though since hes young and has no experience
Wait and see. We only have to have a signed statement of intent by all parties to conclude by 11 tomorrow, not medicals, work permits etc. There's money there for another attacker, but any more than that may depend on who we can get out... I still wouldn't be surprised if a prior target ends up here personally.
If Cannon, Williams and Smith went out then it would free up funds for another, none of those get near the squad when half our Injury list is back. Suspicion that Cannon's start last night had an element of 'shop window' to it, but that may have backfired.
Hes not big though 5’10 if im not mistaken. shota seems to like small technical midfielders rather than the large meathead midfielder which is fine in my opinion. Just dont seem the point of having 7 of them
He’s 6ft It’s alright wanting that but without some beef and bite we’ll be seeing results like last night even when injuries return
Plenty of players will become available tomorrow, not the end of the world. Wouldn’t be opposed to us opting for Dervisoglu without the option though to be honest.
Even Bournemouth weren’t that bad and they’ve spent 20% of what they did. Loving seeing them get a humbling though. They’re extremely lucky not to have 0 points so far
