Wow, surprised by the secret Gakpo bid. Although it does fit with the information I had earlier this window and had mentioned on here previously. Šolak has signed off on spending up to £35m on one ‘top player’ - should the opportunity to land one come to pass.
UTD were linked with him this window. We can let them take Antony for 100m and we sneak in here for what would be a statement signing. 3 days to get it done.
I had heard the same regarding the spending of 35 Million. Would still be absolutely shocked if we brought in Gakpo though.
Seeing as the news is that we previously had a bid rejected for him, I don't think this one is worth getting excited about. Still, good to see we are after this calibre of player and hopefully we manage to get one in!
Next few days are gonna be fun. Still think we need: ST AM / Winger (maybe depending on who we sell but would want regardless) Fullback CM if Romeu is off CB if Bednarek is off? Maybe being greedy here.
If we bring in 5 it will be proper dreamland stuff. I don’t see it unfortunately. I’d like to think we use both loan slots unless we want to keep one for January just in case ?
Yeah 5 incomings is deffo a bit of a myth, but loans could deffo help with that. Unrealistic to expect the whole squad to be fixed in one window, but would love to see it.
All I know about Gakpo is what my son has told me - he's cheap to buy in FIFA and underrated in the game. Hopefully that will seep into real life.
If we get a goal scoring striker, James Garner (replace Romeu) and AMN as a utility player, I would be delighted with the incomings Still would like to see a few more outgoings too but understand it’s not easy shifting average players on Premiership wages
Gakpo, Garner and AMN would cap off the best window ever but imagine there’s got to be a CB about too if we’re moving one or both of Jan and Jack. Think they’ve got to be hoping for 4 or 5 this week. I don’t think even the most optimistic of us expected this level of tilt from Sport Republic. It’s been a great window. Really hope they cross the finish line strongly.
I’m really keen on Garner joining as well but the strongest links seem to be with Everton in his case.
Unless Everton do some serious business soon, i think most players willthink twice before making that move. managerial change and bottom half battle looming there.
They’re not selling Gordon as apparently Chelsea have given up and think he’s too expensive. They already have a deal in principle for Gueye and are waiting for PSG to finalise it. Might be that they can only get one for CM. Who knows?
