So is success to a degree, didn't Zidane get the bullet after winning the CL? Players and managers come and go like the wind these days.
He’s 1 of 3 managers I would sack my season card off for. Sol Campbell and Joey Barton are the others.
There are only two possible targets in the Championship. A) Staying there B) Being promoted Assuming the club are in column B whichever manager can achieve that option gets my vote. I've thought about this and the managers I wouldn't want are often the best at getting a club up. The least annoying for me, despite the style of football, is Dyche. I've always found winning games, by playing ugly, is preferable to losing beautifully ... ... I enjoyed the Allardyce era and that was brutal at times.
A lot of people in football believe Dyche only played that style at Burnley to suit the players. I don’t think we have any chance of getting him, but maybe with better players we’d see a different style of play?
I’m not sure we’ve lost many beautifully mind. Any way I don’t know much about who’s on the market at the moment cos I’m not as in to other clubs as I used to be. But I like the idea of the Chelsea coach or the lad at MK Dons. I like the way the club is setting up now so I don’t think there’ll be too much upheaval with who comes in.
That was a shame for you Zizou mate. What you up to these days? Fancy a shot at the championship? Get yer predators back out the cupboard.
I know what you mean. My take on it though is I would rather win beautifully than win ugly mate. I think we are building a squad to play a certain brand of football, which my restrict the sort of head coach we go for? I tend to think good coaches can play lots of ways - Allardyce at Bolton played some great stuff.
I just hope that the recruitment process doesn't take as long as the last time! My preference would be the MK Dons manager Liam Manning, but he is going to be hard to get, having only joined MKD a year ago.
This is true, of course, but it suggests to me that the club didn't really think he was worth it. I'd assume LJ got the bullet because they thought he should be getting more out of the squad, so a coach coming in and doing what they already thought was achievable obviously didn't buy AN that much credit. I'm sure the KLD family are more than used to paying crazy money for the right manager in their other businesses. Basically, I don't think these guys are in a rush and they won't be investing huge money in a coach because they don't think its necessary. They believe they've put the necessary infrastructure and investment in place to achieve in line with expectations and the head coach just needs to come in and execute.
