Longman had a decent run with us before his injury, he's a solid player who can produce something. We're better with him fit. Smith doesn't seem to contribute as much, but he offers more than Wilks would have done.

Hopefully we get a positive update today or tomorrow. As has been said, it's not as though these are knocks, these are mostly long term injuries.

I was hoping Acun would be able to deliver Pelkas in time for Saturday as we're sorely lacking creativity in midfield with our current injury list.

Tufan is expected to be sidelined for around 10 days, and though he will almost certainly miss Tuesday night's trip to QPR, he could return for the Yorkshire derby with Sheffield United.

There's also encouraging news on Jean Michael Seri, with the Ivorian closing in on a return to the squad following his injury. Seri is another that could return to the fold against the Blades in front of a bumper MKM Stadium crowd.

Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand, who joined City on loan from Premier League giants Arsenal arrived at the club with a groin problem sustained during the Gunners' pre-season tour of America, but the Tigers see the youngster as a long-term project and are willing to support him through his rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Dogukan Sinik is likely to return to training in the next two weeks with a growing hope that he could feature in the first team fold after next month's international break.

Greg Docherty's progress continues to go well as he recovers from his torn quad muscle and is expected back sooner than planned with Brandon Fleming continuing to recover from his foot problem.

The prognosis on Allahyar Sayyadmanesh's torn hamstring is less positive, however, with the Iranian striker undergoing surgery in London earlier this week. Allahyar is likely to be sidelined for around three months putting his hopes of appearing at this winter's World Cup in Qatar in serious jeopardy.
