Because Forest is a considerable drop down for him. He’s not favoured by Conte but he’s someone easily good enough to play for a side in European competition, was only two years ago he won Europa with Sevilla.

I still don’t get what it is Conte is seeing in Sess so far but ultimately as much as I like Steve Cooper at Forest, I’d be surprised if Reguilon agreed to a permanent move there. I think he’d definitely take a loan move, maybe even one with an option to make it permanent if all went well but I have a feeling he’ll hold out til deadline day and see if a club with more pedigree comes in.

Yeah I think he will hold out for a later move too. But if it’s Forest with a get-out clause or sitting in the 21s, he’ll probably do it.

Far as I’m aware no one wants Winks, which is hardly a surprise. Still remember back then you lot telling me he was good, ahhh the good old days <whistle>

If he’s willing to drop down a division or two that may help, as Championship/ League One is probably his level.

As for Reguilon, it’s the only outgoing decision I disagree with Conte on but regardless I do have confidence he’ll get a move. Lazio, Atalanta and Forest are all linked, though just like most other outgoings, it doesn’t seem anyone’s gonna be chucking a permanent offer our way, best we could maybe hope for is a swap with Atalanta.
AS say that wages are the reason Valencia dropped their interest, so no chance of him dropping down to the Championship

I think he would move there subject to a relegation release clause.

One issue with today's headlines is I keep seeing wages being a stumbling block in moving players out, as Winks' wages are the reason Valencia looked past him and Arthur Melo for economy options like Andre Almeida in order to offset whatever they're offering Edinson Cavani, while the Gazzetta has made reference to Reggie immediately being on wage parity with Immobile and Milenkovic-Savic should he arrive

In other words, liquidity may have returned to Premier League clubs, but with a thimbleful of exceptions it hasn't returned to La Liga or Serie A clubs

Forest looking at Japh now too according to The Athletic.

Interest in our players starting to ramp up in this final week or so. Was expected but also good to see.

If we can get a few perms out that should give us some dough to then spend again on a couple targets.

Lyall Thomas has said though that Zaha and Malinovskyi may be unlikely purchases as Spurs don’t want to offer multiple year contracts to players near 30.

Gordon told Lampard he wants to join Chelsea.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

£60m.....if it's anywhere close to the truth, it's total insanity, I'd be laughing my tits off, if it wasn't for the fact that it drives transfer fee and player wage inflation, which ends up hitting fans and viewers in the pocket.

Boehly's got more money than sense...what about the rest of us?

I think he’s gonna have to take what’s offered. His options are limited right now. I thought someone would have bought him by now.

He’s got no chance of game time while Conte is still manager

It's rumoured that Brighton were interested but the player wasn't. Disappointing but it's his prerogative to say no. Unfortunately, he's not performed to a level where there's a queue of significantly bigger or better clubs who are sufficiently impressed...so, it'll be a loan late in the window...or West Ham for him...<wah>

It’s been an issue for years, only made worse by the pandemic. Even mid-tier PL clubs can afford wages considerably above similar clubs in other top leagues and it gets worse for the ‘Top 6’. It makes it easier to attract talent but very difficult to get rid of players overseas unless it’s the end of their contract.

Everton are absolutely laughing if Chelsea do pay that in the end. Teams produce players like Gordon every season, Chelsea themselves probably have 5 of them in their youth team.
He would probably get games over Gallagher just because of the fee even though Gallagher is e better player. Chelsea seem to want to continue selling players who go on to be very good players

Nor me.
if I was reguilon, I’d actually feel quite hard done by. Whilst he hasn’t exactly been fantastic since coming to the premier league, Sessegnon is poor, if not worse IMO. I literally don’t know what he offers other than speed.
Unless there is massive improvement this will be his last season with us anyway IMO. Udogie will be in the fold next year, and we’ll still have Perisic for another year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we look at other left back options at this point in time, ready for the future.

It may have come down to the fact that Sessegnon's HG and we've precious few HG options. It's looking likely that we'll need to bring in at least more HG option, if we're to add to the squad, so we were interested in Anthony Gordon at a more realistic price.
