Yeah I think this too. I think he will feature sparingly this season unless injuries force Conte’s hand.

Atm Emerson, Doherty & Lucas are all ahead of him. Even if one of Emerson/Doherty is sold, it still leaves him as 3rd choice.

    General Roundup
    * Di Marzio claims Milan are close to agreeing personal terms with Tanganga
    * Hector Gomez claims we've agreed to loan Bryan to Valencia, with Matteo Moretto saying the deal will be announced Tuesday
    * The Fear Street trilogy is not as clever as it thinks it is

So 10 days left of the transfer window left, the two players left of the omitted 4 - Reguilon and Winks still to shift ( Reguilon is interesting Forest and god knows who will buy Winks)

After that Conte seems content with his squad but has made it very clear if anyone leaves they MUST be replaced.

Gil is close to a loan move to Valencia ( possibly today) and Tanganga could still move on.
To replace Gil we like Malinovsky and Gordon , Zaha has 1 year left of his deal at Palace, he would be a superb buy.

If Tanganga leaves then it will be interesting to see if we bring in a young CB to cover Dier or an experienced player. We do need a leader because when Diers out we massively miss his organisation at the back.

Still think in the remaining days 4 will leave and 2 will come in.

If no PL club wants Winks, then either he goes
to a top flight overseas league, or perhaps to
a club in the league below that is a good prospect
    for promotion.

Either way, tis incumbent on the club (Conte etc)
not to be nasty to such a player (academy grown,
never a problem with his professionalism etc) .

With no fuss, Lo Celso, NDombele, Reguillon and Winks have been informed that Conte doesn't see a future for them at the club. The first 2 have sorted out a club for next season with no issues being raised on their part. I would expect Reguillon and Winks to do the same. As it looks like both of them don't have a queue of suitors able to buy them, they're probably going out on loan too...which should mean that sensible relations are maintained between both parties.

If there is any unpleasantness, for the life of me, I cannot see it coming from Conte. He has lots of very positive things to occupy his attentions...and he's not Mourinho.

Far as I’m aware no one wants Winks, which is hardly a surprise. Still remember back then you lot telling me he was good, ahhh the good old days <whistle>

If he’s willing to drop down a division or two that may help, as Championship/ League One is probably his level.

As for Reguilon, it’s the only outgoing decision I disagree with Conte on but regardless I do have confidence he’ll get a move. Lazio, Atalanta and Forest are all linked, though just like most other outgoings, it doesn’t seem anyone’s gonna be chucking a permanent offer our way, best we could maybe hope for is a swap with Atalanta.

Pete O’Rourke is saying we’re ready to make a late move for Gordon. I swear to god I’ll punch Paratici and/ or Conte in the dick if they spend on that guy. Chelsea supposedly willing to go up to £60m for him, we’d be ****ing mad to match or make a near similar offer.

I’m wondering whether because we’ve done most of our essential business, we’ll see something big in the final 48 hours. Perhaps levy will say “my turn!”…..

(and then say “we tried”, obvs).

Nothing wrong with attempted cost inflation
of a rival target, if it increases their costs or
means they don't get a player you don't want
    but could help them.

As always, the skill is in knowing how far to push it.

absolutely stinks of an easy DD move. Probably a loan. Easy for everyone involved.

And right on queue Nico Schira is saying Forest have opened talks over a permanent deal.

Schira is a sort of semi-reliable journo so not one to take as gospel just yet but also not one to completely right off as bullshit.

I do wonder if Reguilon would accept a perm deal to Forest though.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t. Just don’t sign too long a contract and/or make sure there’s a relegation clause in there. It’s clear he’s not going to play at Spurs so unless he’s holding out for a late move somewhere else I’m not sure what else his options are.

Reggie lacks venom and presence of mind at the right moments to be the fullback we need

I can see why he can’t get a game for us

Because Forest is a considerable drop down for him. He’s not favoured by Conte but he’s someone easily good enough to play for a side in European competition, was only two years ago he won Europa with Sevilla.

I still don’t get what it is Conte is seeing in Sess so far but ultimately as much as I like Steve Cooper at Forest, I’d be surprised if Reguilon agreed to a permanent move there. I think he’d definitely take a loan move, maybe even one with an option to make it permanent if all went well but I have a feeling he’ll hold out til deadline day and see if a club with more pedigree comes in.
