If KWP has another great season then we will be really struggling to keep him next summer.
If the option to buy a right back, especially one which can operate on the other flank as well is available then it makes sense to act now as game time is guaranteed during Tinos absence.

Redmond going the other way might be an option to explore here

KWP won't be off anytime soon. Did you see his celebration last week? I know you can't read too much into stuff like that but clutching the badge on the shirt and pointing to it does indicate he's happy here. Tino won't be here forever, we all know that. And until next year, if anything happens to KWP we're in trouble. Makes sense to me.
I remember a certain player parading around the ground with his young son, kissing and touching the badge. Last time we saw him in a Saints shirt! I don’t think KWP will be off but I also don’t read too much into players’ gestures or professions of loyalty- and who can blame them? Clubs kick ‘em out soon enough if it suits their model.

Not sure about the club, but the Norwich fans I know absolutely hate Redmond, so not sure if he can be added to the deal

That makes no business sense. The owners would rather sell now and maximise the money they can get for him rather than loan him out for a year and lose a year off his contract.

Unless no clubs want to buy him. It doesn't always has to make business sense. The wages of Aaron's might be too high than they want to afford.

It’s much harder to kiss the badge this season after they moved it to the centre of the shirt

I’d like to think we laughed them off at that - unless our issue is not funds but wage space (but a loan doesn’t help that because the reduction is not permanent)

Similarly to us with the full back spot, Villa are only looking for someone to cover for Carlos’ long term injury, so not sure they will be too interested in a perm deal at CB.

Having said that supposedly Mings and Konsa have been poor so far so maybe they want more options there

The general reaction to signing Sarr seems to be "shouldn't you be signing a new defender?"

Also with regards to our full back search - I imagine we aren't looking to try and sign a high wage established player from a rival club whom the club would rather both get a fee for and get off the wage bill. Most immediate example I can think of is someone like Wan-Bissaka. But as poor as they have started they are not a direct rival. Maybe trying to bring Clyne back on loan is an example?

You could say our attempts to loan Neco Williams as Liverpool would have preferred to sell him? But again - not similar level clubs.

Loans between similar level clubs seems to be a really big thing in Italy but not in many other places. And that might have been back in the "co-ownership" days (which I think have stopped) where they weren't truly loans in the same ways as with others

Wonder if this ends Stephens to Watford!

Also maybe Bednarek accelerates to Villa Perhaps.

Dominoes.
