Well that is true re Lavia, But I don't want to just have Lavia, Diallo and JWP. We would need another CM when Romeu leaves.

I'd say we were short in Romeu's position / centre midfield all of last season. In terms of bodies it was the only position we were short in - the proper "defensive 6" (or "number 4" in British football)

An interesting point of note with regards to the teams apparently chasing Che Adams - they seem to all be in for him as a back up striker. So backup to either DCL, Bamford or Jiminez. (Who knows with regards to Forest but I doubt he becomes first choice for them)

Everton sometimes play with two up but not often.

Hope this isn't because KWP might be off. I do think it is strange that we are apparently after a right back when we already have 2. It makes more sense to get a back up for Perraud.

We are after a right back because we have one fit one who can play left back if needed - meaning two players cover each full back position until tino is fully fit. Which will be a long time

There doesn’t seem to be a high quantity of left backs who can cover at right back for some reason. Or at least not as many. Not that there are that many right backs who can also play on the left either

If we signed a left back and KWP got injured we’d be in a very similar position - with options of Valery, Stephens and JWP. And if those were considered to be options then I would have thought we would have seen it by now (with KWP on the left) in a flat back 4

Also “monitoring his situation” could be whether he needs (due to wages) or wants a loan away from Norwich whilst they are in the championship. I don’t expect the former because that is not how Norwich are run financially - but I don’t know for sure

KWP won't be off anytime soon. Did you see his celebration last week? I know you can't read too much into stuff like that but clutching the badge on the shirt and pointing to it does indicate he's happy here. Tino won't be here forever, we all know that. And until next year, if anything happens to KWP we're in trouble. Makes sense to me.

Especially given from what I have managed to stream so far this season it seems like other teams are going in hard on KWP with the tackles. I think they know he is both and key player and we don’t have backup. Could just have been mostly a dirty Leeds thing though

We need a fullback and this would be a very good one to get. I imagine he may have itchy feet towards the close of the window. If we had him we’d have 1 RB, 1 LB and one that can do either. With Tino back that would be two good players for each side. I think he’d probably be too expensive though.

He’s probably on the expensive side for what we actually need

I get the points made about a RB being more pressing for the next few months (assuming Perraud actually returns soon). But it is a short term requirement - something a loan would resolve.

I think loaning a RB and signing a back up LB is the better move. Although our squad is already big so might need to wait for a few exits.

Actually Aaron’s is out of contract next summer so he wouldn’t be that expensive and he’s only 22 still. It might partially be that he would be a long shot to make the England squad if he had a good showcase so it’s probably a good time for him to leave!

When I checked I saw that he was out of contract in 2024

Aarons is like KWP in the sense that he's a RB who has, at times, played LB.

Granted, I wouldn't say he's as competent as KWP at either role. But he's still young, and has a decent amount of PL experience.

Makes a lot of sense that we'd look for someone who can provide cover on both sides.

Would be a good Loan tbh. I'd be happy with that.

Why would Norwich loan him out? It will be buy or nothing I would think.

Well perhaps Aaron's want to leave but Norwich might want him when they get promoted again.

That makes no business sense. The owners would rather sell now and maximise the money they can get for him rather than loan him out for a year and lose a year off his contract.

Apparently a couple of sides made loan offers already. Which is bizarre. Can only assume they thought the same logic - they might not need him for promotion and want him for next season if they do go up. It does happen but seemingly for higher wage players that clubs sign when promoted on PL wages

But it really isn’t how Norwich operate. Apparently they want £15m which is a lot less than a few years ago but more than I see us spending here

I’d be all over that at £15m to be honest. We have plenty of minutes for him and it should be easy to add value and profit on him. I think he’s very good.
