His agent is ICM Stellar Sports, one of the biggest in the business, they represent a lot of the England players (Grealish, Phillips. Chilwell, Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Pickford, Loftus-Cheek etc).

And this is where it gets sticky for the club, because these agents have access to a lot of clubs that wait in the wings for players they recommend to them, Boro will not be the only club in the wings some will be biding their time to see developments before coming out of the woodwork to show an interest plus the agents will probably already know which clubs are interested in greaves and now greaves will also have been informed of this hence the stand off.

These are top agents so if they recommend Greaves to a club they will take notice.

Surely what the club need to be doing is lining up a replacement. He has potential but has a long way to go.

He played every game last season and rarely put a foot wrong. If the rumours were about him going to a Prem club, I’d get that sentiment, but the main suitors right now are Boro. He’s proven at this level which is why replacing him with a foreign player from Turkey is a huge risk.

Seems to have been a shift in targets, both the last 3 names have been domestic targets. Dervisoglu, Laryea and Ngakia.

Just out of interest, what sort of wages would Middlesbrough be offering? Can’t imagine they would be the highest in the league.
Plus it’s a ****ing ****hole.

As they would only be training and playing there before going home to a more salubrious area it doesn’t really matter. How many City players we sign decide to live in Hull?

I was up that way on motorbike yesterday, and It really isn't mate - ten minutes out of Middlesbrough and you're in beautiful countryside, the equal of anywhere else in this country.

What the **** are you talking about you mad man?

Despite some incomings and outgoings, Coyle, Allahyar, Baxter, Ingram, Elder, Fleming, Macca, Greaves, Cannon, Williams, Wilks and Slater are still here. Oh, and the manager too. So it’s not a massively different team at all.

And I acknowledged that the first game was, in my opinion, an exception to the rule.

We are in transition and I genuinely think Shota will pull it off and have us much improved, given the time. Last season we had a bad habit of folding instead of fighting back. This season we have more quality and stand a better chance, but in the last three games and at the back end of last season there’s seems to be some tentativeness to take more risks and get at the opposition. Maybe we’re doing a Bruce and building from a clean sheet, who knows? Whatever it is, it needs more creativity through the middle, endless crosses are easily dealt with in the Championship, hopefully we can mix it up a bit.

Be nice, Ben. Don’t be an arsehole, it doesn’t suit you.

You’ve just invalidated that entire post. Ben excels at being an arsehole. He lives for it :emoticon-0172-mooni

Lots of prem teams have him on their radar and this contract situation is being followed with interest by some of them

Yeah I know mate, I used to work up there many years ago, and agreed some beautiful places close by, I was just being daft.
Maybe it’s memories of visiting Ayrsome Park back in the 80s that clouds my judgment, but I really dislike the town.
Anyway can they be offering massive wages?
