And there off!!! In the battle of the armchair managers. Interesting to see that a new poster presumably from Turkey taking flak and abuse he knows nowt. I would guess he would know a bit more than those on here even if its just from a local tv highlights show.
Have I pre judged him if I've done so based on things that have happened? Where have I pre judged the squad?
Where does this talk of Shota preferring 4 3 3 come from? I've never heard him say that. Up until yesterday, I'm pretty sure I've only heard him say (shortly after joining us) that he favoured 4 2 3 1, and our new foreign friends who know more about him seem generally to support that. Then on RH this week he said we was going 5 3 2 (maybe based on what we currently have available or maybe based on what he now thinks we need for this division). Either way, nothing to suggest he prefers a 4 3 3
I think he said early on that he prefers 4-3-3 when asked by Burnsy, but as you say, he's more recently suggested he wants to play 3-5-2 if the players are available. He's a confusing person to listen to.
I liked the way Shota quietly went about assessing the players he had last season, bearing in mind he had to do this largely without too much time on the training ground, as players were playing, recovering, and playing again. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I also think it will take a bit of time to get the team gelling.
I honestly can't recall him saying he prefers 4 3 3. It seemed to me that it was a myth that gathered pace and turned into fact on here. Maybe I missed it.
I know what you mean, that sort of thing happens a lot, but I'm pretty certain I remember him saying it.
6 in 19 was fine. It's not like we had a strong squad, it was pretty much a L1 squad for the most parts. Any notion that 3 at the back didn't suit us last season is garbage. I don't understand why you're constantly negative
8 in 27 from Grant wasn't too bad then! I haven't been lately but Shotas comments lately are just bizarre.
He is hard to understand but there's no point judging a manager by his interviews. People used to tie themselves in knots about things McCann said too. Let's just see how the football goes.
It wasn't! Nothing wrong with Grant's record either. It was a L1 squad in the Championship with attackers who couldn't score goals, a midfield that couldn't keep the ball and an inexperienced defence. Shota doesn't actually say much in interviews, he's always pretty vague and goes round in circles. Look at the other night on Sportstalk, any time he was asked an awkward question, he answered without saying much or answered a completely different question.
Anyone else think we should consider Poku at Peterborough? I know it was a friendly (and I shouldn’t be judging after one game), but he tore us apart. We also need pace. And he’s a Ghana international. Might help Tetteh feel more settled.
Dread to think what would happen if they tried this here. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...er-fans-NFT-holders-VOTE-position-wanted.html
