He could tell the supporter that we have a strategy to deal with our lack of wing backs, or that we will play a formation that will suit the players we have, or any of a range of answers that answers the question without giving anything away, rather than a ****y "You should be a scout" sarcastic response.

I think you should listen to it before making those assumptions of sarcasm. It didn't come across that way, you need the context of the conversation and that English is his 5th language.

It wasn't sarcastic. He was actually being very complimentary to the person asking the question, saying that he clearly understands the game really well. It was a bit over the top if anything.

If it was genuine that it's worrying he thinks such an observation is anything other than obvious.

I think he was just giving what he thought was a positive, diplomatic response. I'm often unsure what he's actually on about though to be honest. That HDM interview the other day where he talked about being able to play 3-5-2 now with the current squad and how KLP fit into the system previously was completely baffling.

Think Syds just latching onto anything to give the bloke a kicking. It's there for all to hear if anyone actually wishes to form a considered opinion.

Jury is out tactically, but he wasn't being an arsehole.

No not really, just think it was a daft response however you try to spin it. As PLT said he gives a lot of strange responses to things.

You can't take something second hand out of context and say its sarcastic. It wasn't. He was being complimentary to the author of the question.

I agree that there are question marks over his ability to get us challenging, but I'm not spinning anything. You're spinning something you haven't even heard.

I also think if he doesn't start well to the point it's looking like playoffs aren't a possibility, then we'll likely be talking about his successor in a few months.
