I do think he was massively overrated anyway but did somehow manage to come up with the goods. Never seen such an unorthodox football player in my life. He had such poor technical ability his first touch could end up anywhere between here and Canada and his second touch was likely to end up in the middle of Russia

:emoticon-0136-giggl Yeah - I remember when we signed him - Everton fans saying if he hit it first time, then more often than not he'd get it on target. Give him time to think or more than 2 touches it would usually end up in row z

Very worrying he’s had them for 6 weeks and we have him reacting like that already. Think he’ll be gone in 10 games

Just remember that under Allam

- Honeyman would have left anyway
- KLP would have been sold for less
- KLP money would have been trousered
- Our squad would have been updated with more frees of the quality of Moncur/Cannon etc
- Attendances this season would struggle to hit 10,000
- We would be preparing for a season of ridicule and a scrap at the bottom

Is anyone surprised that a brand new team with so many new faces is struggling to hit the ground running?

I’m not convinced by Shota but he needs to be given a chance as does Tufan (the new boo boy after a pre-season)!

Enjoy the ride - we’re on the way up but it won’t be in a vertical line, it’s going to take time.

Good post mate.

Manager’s get judged on results…Shota won’t be any different.

Oh dear. So he wants to continue to play with 5 at the back. That’s worrying for me, as I know it is for others. I hope he proves me wrong.

One of the few times I remember 5 at the back working was under Bruce, when we had Robertson etc.

Is this a new quote?
Quite a few on here have previously been calling for 2 upfront?

On the other hand, fair play to him for just saying it as it is. I tire of managers trotting out the same old BS that you know isn't what they are really thinking.

Of course, Shota and his team will be working their rocks off to get us ready for Saturday, goes without saying.

Sort of refreshing to hear a manager sounding as pissed off as fans after a performance like that, and so much to those saying it's just a friendly where nobody was bothered about the performance or result, it was just an exercise to get minutes into their legs - given his reaction it's clear that that is not how Shota saw it. He's clearly hurt and gutted. I'd take a manager like that who says it how it is (within reason) over meaningless BS any day.

And they didn't want to give him a say because they thought he would meddle in the team.
I understood that it was simply that they didn't want to sell their shares.
Why make up and spread this unhelpful bollox? Acun is doing incredible things off the pitch, the sort of things he most likely wanted to do with that previous club but couldn't. Regarding signings he's clearly working hand in hand with the rest of his team; we know that for sure by what's been said by them.. Regarding selections, I'd be amazed if it wasn't Shota who had the say.

To be fair I read similar. He wanted to pick the manager etc

Who's making up what now? That was the comment when he was first coming here, that the fans at that club didn't want him meddling with the team.

^^Good post.

There’s two types of people on this thread, & a lot of threads really.
There’s the ones that believe we’ll be ok, despite the results, optimism or sticking their heads in the sands?
Then there’s the others, who believe we’re going to struggle & fail miserably, pessimists who are always negative no matter what, or realists, who have seen nothing since Shota has been here to believe he can do anything different from McCann?
