Not sure why we needed him anyway to be fair. We're more than ok for wide options, Sinik, Allayah, Wilks, Longman, Williams and Tetteh can play out wide too. What we are clearly crying out for is some bite in midfield and a proper creative midfielder. Any kid playing football manager can see what we need.
I do think he was massively overrated anyway but did somehow manage to come up with the goods. Never seen such an unorthodox football player in my life. He had such poor technical ability his first touch could end up anywhere between here and Canada and his second touch was likely to end up in the middle of Russia Yeah - I remember when we signed him - Everton fans saying if he hit it first time, then more often than not he'd get it on target. Give him time to think or more than 2 touches it would usually end up in row z
Come on Shota, we're looking to you for inspiration! tell us its just pre season, we'll be ready on Saturday, its going to be a exciting season... anything
Very worrying he’s had them for 6 weeks and we have him reacting like that already. Think he’ll be gone in 10 games
Interesting to hear he does see merit in two up front, when I heard about Tetteh and Estupinan's characteristics it made a lot of sense to me.
No. He had a minority shareholding in his previous club and became understandably frustrated that he didn't have the final say in how the club operated.
"Come on Shota, we're looking to you for inspiration! tell us its just pre season, we'll be ready on Saturday, its going to be a exciting season... anything " On the other hand, fair play to him for just saying it as it is. I tire of managers trotting out the same old BS that you know isn't what they are really thinking. Of course, Shota and his team will be working their rocks off to get us ready for Saturday, goes without saying. Sort of refreshing to hear a manager sounding as pissed off as fans after a performance like that, and so much to those saying it's just a friendly where nobody was bothered about the performance or result, it was just an exercise to get minutes into their legs - given his reaction it's clear that that is not how Shota saw it. He's clearly hurt and gutted. I'd take a manager like that who says it how it is (within reason) over meaningless BS any day.
I understood that it was simply that they didn't want to sell their shares. Why make up and spread this unhelpful bollox? Acun is doing incredible things off the pitch, the sort of things he most likely wanted to do with that previous club but couldn't. Regarding signings he's clearly working hand in hand with the rest of his team; we know that for sure by what's been said by them.. Regarding selections, I'd be amazed if it wasn't Shota who had the say.
Who's making up what now? That was the comment when he was first coming here, that the fans at that club didn't want him meddling with the team.
It wasn't that long ago that people were convinced that Ehab was picking the team now the narrative is that Acun is picking the team. Some of us do like a conspiracy theory on here..... I'm going to make a bold prediction. We will do better than 19th this season.
There’s two types of people on this thread, & a lot of threads really. There’s the ones that believe we’ll be ok, despite the results, optimism or sticking their heads in the sands? Then there’s the others, who believe we’re going to struggle & fail miserably, pessimists who are always negative no matter what, or realists, who have seen nothing since Shota has been here to believe he can do anything different from McCann?
