Just got back from a day at Beamish, not busy except for the new fish n chip shop queue, so settled for a nice blonde ale in The Sun Inn
Been quite a few times, it's nice and quiet with some lovely drives out to places. Long drive bit stopping overnight to break the journey up.
It's the pub they have in Beamish, unless it is the one you used to frequent and they moved it to Beamish
Drove to London on Tuesday as train was cancelled, went to see wicked, very good, 2 days at Thorpe park, stayed over at park hotel, very good, now in Covent Garden, went to the Tate today, been in the nags head (asked for discount as an SAFC fan) none given, now deciding where to eat, canny pissed now me and our lass, kids have just came back from shopping on our credit card
We’re away to Anglessey next Friday for a long weekend. Will be catching up with No1 daughter, and grandson who’s 3 on 1st Aug. Bart
I've pretty much done with foreign travel, probably won't renew my passport now tbh. I'm now looking forward to remote, rarely visited places in the UK. There are some incredible things to see which aren't promoted because there's no commercial gain. I'm hoping to walk the length of Hadrians Wall, West to East, this Autumn ... ... it's an incredible part of our history.
Off to West Wittering next week with junior and his two cousins (19&20), camping close to the beach - forecast looks good. Then got 2 week family holiday end of August in East Devon then Cornwall. We have a dog these days so UK favourable, plus the amount of cancelled flights I’ve had this year with work, I just can’t be dealing with that risk this summer. Need to get some chill time in the bank.
Was at a wedding in Brixham, Torbay last week. Added on days both ends to link up with kids, grandkids and greatgrandson in Launceston (Cornwall) and Bristol. That will probably be it for this year other than a city break for wedding anniversary in November.
Great stuff fellas. Get the pictures posted when you are there, sounds like we have some stunners to look forward to.
We did the North Coast 500 last October Smug, it took us 12 days with hotels each night along the route. It was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to holiday in the UK.
That sounds great mate, I'll have a look at that. We did the St Cuthberts Way, 63 miles sleeping wild, and that was exhilarating.
That’s the one we are in mate, fantastic, can’t fault it ! I wasn’t keen when she booked it but it’s absolutely tremendous. Mind I’m full of Rum & Coke now. Happy days, great seeing the kids enjoying themselves, not a better feeling in the world being surrounded by family and friends work free for a few weeks
Not doing much. I leave the RAF in three weeks and start a new job a week later. In that week I'm driving round Scotland with Mrs Exile volunteering for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
