We had no issue creating chances against Malaga.

Let’s not judge a side who’s played 45 minutes together against one that’s played seasons together. Leicester haven’t made any signings FFS

He is still around and got teams to the PL. As did Warnock. Both meet your criteria..

Galanolefko has reported that Dimitris Pelkas has agreed personal terms with English second-tier side Hull City. The fee Hull will be paying is believed to be in the region of four million pounds and Pelkas will sign a three year contract. A good move for Pelkas?

First half I thought tufan was the furthest forward and showed some decent touches. Non of our wing backs are elmo going forward.
Oscar looked a handful but we need to give him more facing the opposition goal rather than back to goal.
Hopefully against championship opposition we’ll dominate teams more

I like the look of Pelkas, he's exactly the sort of player we're missing. Attacking mid that can cover wide positions if needed, very tidy on the ball, can see a pass and chips in with a few goals too.

Final piece of Acuns jigsaw perhaps?

You always get strange results in pre season games, last night might have brought some people’s expectations down a bit. It’s going to take time but has I wasn’t there last night and didn’t watch it what were we lacking. Is it a tackler, a creative passer? Does the balance look ok, defence let four goals in which is a lot considering they didn’t bring on players until the second half. Had we brought a few off when they started scoring. Obviously Leicester are a very decent side but again going from some comments that we didn’t create much which we should be even against good players. Pre season is for getting the team together, fitness and ironing out any mistakes and it sounds as though we have a lot to work on.

A pod reflecting on our signings to date as well as general predictions for the season ahead. Some may be pleasantly surprised at the complete lack of negativity:

We lack goals, we lack shots on goal, we lack creativity. This exactly like the Fenerbahce game no real threat. We can't even benefit from an owngoal because we dont go close to their area.

Pelkas would be great but I still think we’d struggle against more physical teams if we don’t sign a big, strong defensive midfielder who break up play and grab a game by the scruff of its neck, and also probably a new right-back as well. Seri and Tufan are a class above what we had last year and I reckon Slater and Docherty will actually improve quite a bit with them in the squad, but we really lack strength in that midfield.

Against a side close to our level though, Malaga, we had plenty of chances…

We won't be playing against a side as good as Fenerbahce or Leicester all season though.

We're missing creativity yes, but we literally scored 3 against Malaga 4 days ago. There has to be some realism. Sinik will help, as will Pelkas if he joins

Two of the three goals were set pieces so I do understand the concerns about creativity. I think the weekend will be interesting against sides not too far below us (or at least, us of last season).

We didn’t block the attempts to change the name. There there had to be proof of benefits of doing so and all Ehab came up with was the possibility of £1million if we did so. Only 4,000 voted in the poll, which of course had a loaded question on it.
People singing at 19.04 were booed by fellow fans and accused of disrupting the team. Many said they couldn’t care less what we were called as long as they could watch us playing the big teams and it was Allam’s club he could do what he wanted, if you want o keep things the same buy the club or shut up, etc, etc… We don’t have a large fan base, Hull folk can be very fickle anyway, and even then the views of the fan base cannot be judged by the few dozen people on here who are amongst the more committed City fans.

Ive got my doubts on Shota too but as others have said, its early days, give him time to see what he can do with this new team. I do wish he wouldnt be so defensive though.

I'd personally like to see us play more attacking against weaker teams this season, can you imagine us adopting a style of play like the image below? An alternate 343 with a diamond in midfield, to give us a lot more control over the game. If you can imagine our players instead, we've certainly got the players for it.

Personally don’t think we can really judge until we’re at the first international break. By that point players should be fit, gelled and the transfer window will be closed so no distractions. Then would be a time to panic if we aren’t doing well - not after being well beaten by a significantly better team.
