Saints and The Hutt clearly wanted Broja after the first half of his loan spell, Chelsea rightly didn’t want to sell a player attracting so much media attention and value, his form dipped in the second half and his head was probably turned by the wunderkid attention. IMHO I don’t think he was a good pick for the future of the club. While £25/30k for a club he wants to play for is not a lot, at the same time for a club he clearly doesn’t is different matter and far too much. I think he really wanted games at Chelsea and when that didn’t happen he went for his next best option on salary and chances of Europe to get to a bigger club.

Yeah, I mean I think he'll become a good player, but I didn't ever get the feeling it was going to be with us, as much because I never had the feeling he wanted it to be with us. No great shakes, 30m is a risk that may work out for West Ham, but I'm very much already over him.

Certainly not a lot - we’ll be doing well to pick up a striker for £25k!

Where has the Dolberg and Cornet talk come from? I thought Cornet was most strongly linked to Everton?

My understanding a poster just put up a random name, He likes the look of personally. He has credible recent news, So fans assume we are interested in buying him. Not saying it's false, But it's more a wish player.

Indeed. A wish post but based on players who are credibly available, affordable and who I've seen play and think could do a good job for us.

I would hope that we could bring in 2 more forwards this window and a forward line-up with Adams/Armstrong/Dolberg and Cornet would be *chef's kiss* for me.

Bazunu;
KWP; ABK, Salisu, Perraud;
Lavia;
JWP, Stuey,
Aribo;
Dolberg, Cornet. Like this?

Not sure we will see the midfield diamond return under Ralph and with the recent trend to 3 at the back I reckon we will be seeing a variation on that and the trusty 4222. We looked awful last season with one up front so bringing in 2 forwards would seem to be a must. Cornet could play on the left or a part of a front 2. Dolberg an out and out striker. Adams and Armstrong pairing up with one or the other would be a flexible and potentially potent combo.

I'm guessing we aren't in the mix at the moment or keeping it very quiet which is a shame but as always it will come down to financial clout more than anything else and we are still in the super lightweight division. I'm expecting we will be offering for overseas talent looking for a foot in the door and the likes of Delap who have had the pathway blocked at their super club.

I think that we could go with a 4-2-3-1 sorta setup, but you'd need the right sort of player in that advanced midfield spot. Namely, you'd need someone who can be a creative outlet, but also makes runs beyond the striker and scores goals, particularly if the 1 is Che, who doesn't exactly tend to lurk on the shoulder of defenders. Otherwise, we definitely stagnate, with all of the action happening in front of the defense.

Basically Florian Wirtz, but for some reason that seems a touch unlikely.

My personal choice of formation. however, I don't think we have the wide players or the sole striker to play the 3-1 up front very well. Last seasons efforts with a isolated forward were the most abysmal games we played.

Would still just go in for the loan tbh. We haven't used those slots yet and makes sense to use one on a striker as they are typically the most expensive and we need two really.
