Its not negativity it's common sense. Someone posted a list of a dozen or so clubs in our league who we can expect to finish above because they have spent less then us. Rotherham were the only club on the list who attract lower crowds then us. We have sold over 12,000 memberships apparently, which is a big increase on previous seasons, but we need to sell more then that. I'd like to see a 'Dare to Dream' campaign started to gather momentum and really build up our fanbase starting for the friendly at home to Leicester next Wednesday. The prices for that one are incredibly cheap and it would be great to see the ground with 20,000 in it, especially to greet the new owners and the new players we have. That shouldn't be too difficult, we attracted a crowd of similar size for a pre season friendly with Leeds a few seasons back and it was four times the price to get in then the club are charging on Wednesday. Its all very good expressing support and interest on social media, let's all try and persuade a mate or a family member to attend and more importantly get there yourselves.
Surely about 12k season passes will mean average gates of 16/17k. Away fans prices are great too so that will attract support.
For what it's worth, getting 17k would be a great start, that's pretty much a 70% increase on attendances 6 months ago under the Allams. There's a lot of people who haven't been for a lot of years and some young ones that will have never been before. I wouldn't be surprised to see people coming to the odd game first and then building up and getting a membership throughout the season or next year.
