I can't make my mind up whether Penny Mordaunt's leadership bid video is hilarious or terrifying. Either way, she has stolen clips from various different sources without permission, some of whom have requested they be deleted.

I have it on good authority that ****s are useful. However, I think it's a contextual description and a carnival of ****s they are.

So blah blah blah various generic patriotic ideas (I liked how when they spoke of ambition, the footage was a ****ing aircraft carrier) , blah blah blah about a whole load of changes needed that are as far away from Tory government policy as is possible, and ends up with a quick slogan.
Just another opportunistic clown from the corrupt Tory circus.
Onward rolls the Carnival of ****s as Archers so eloquently named them

That is possibly the most heart felt political video I have ever seen.

Honestly , ask yourself why you wouldn’t vote for Penny ?

Penny Mordaunt . She’s got spunk ! And I like that in a Woman !

    ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

You can't help yourselves can you? It's not about defending the Daily Mail.

Whenever someone voices an opinion that doesn't conform with the views of the self appointed overseers on this politics board they quite often get the "this post is something like you would read in the Daily Mail" response. As I've said before it's done to discredit the poster rather than address the post itself. So when an article appeared about why the DM is a rag of a newspaper (something I agree with by the way), I used your language to describe the poster rather than what he was saying. Just like you would do, but in your clamour to knock back anything regarded as taboo it's gone right over your heads.
Having said that James O'Brien is a bit of a nob though. ;) His radio show is a bit like being on here where if he agrees with you, you are allowed to continue but if not he cuts them off.

While I'm here, there is a connected point to make about this board. I doubt it bothers anybody but don't you wonder why anyone with a different viewpoint never stays very long? There are some who aren't able to argue without being abusive it seems. Anybody who goes against the accepted political outlook is faced with a pile-on from the rest and any possible allies they may of had have long since been dispatched. Some of the talk gets heated, which is ok if "anything goes" but someone who responds like for like with a resident poster risks getting threatened with a thread ban.

There is also a theme of talking down to other posters that runs across many on here.
    For example, from the usual suspects;

If anyone believed the "smear campaign" against Corbyn, they were gullible or stupid according to the political sages that inhabit the board.

Labour voters have more of a social conscience, which leads to a round of mutual back slapping.

After the election and even still today, comments are made about how Tory voters should be ashamed of themselves and are as much to blame for the state of the country as Johnson is. Just as Labour voters are responsible for the war in Iraq, aren't they? And you all voted for Corbyn and McDonnell (Smeared? No, don't think so) so past misdemeanours can be denied or ignored when it suits you. The IRA were responsible for 1700 deaths. So much for the higher social conscience eh?

Brexit voters were either stupid or racist or both.

These comments are made knowing full well that some members here voted Tory and probably Brexit too. Calling people racist without knowing their reasons for voting is unacceptable IMO but because they belong to the gang it's ok apparently.

I'm not a Tory voter or a DM reader (or believer), never have been, but sometimes I don't agree with everything that is trotted out on here. If you were a bit more tolerant of differing views you might get some healthy debate rather than the echo chamber this board has become.

To be fair this is the situation in much of the social media, not just here. I voted Conservative and will do again, I read all of the papers mentioned plus The Guardian and The I. Your points are much more comprehensive than those I put on here a couple or so years ago. I enjoy the football pages and hopefully will continue to do so. I'm happy we have a country in which many disagree with my way of political thinking and approach in the sense that's called democracy and the party I support will always abide by that principle. I'm not happy at all with the current performance or the behaviours shown by those in power, but every party has its moments of disgrace and ineptitude. I await to see the final pairing of candidates for the new leader before I will make my vote. In the meantime I will continue to correspond with my elected MP and local councillors/committees etc. But what I will never do is, belittle those with a different opinion, or insult those who constantly try to undermine what I happen to believe in or totally ignore the views of others.

In the meantime I remain loyal to being a fan of the Saints as I have done for 66 years and enjoy the company of those who share the same passion.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments of this post which correctly points out William Blake's radical leanings, the musical setting of "Jerusalem" was composed by Sir Hubert Parry and was a setting of the poet's work. Incidentally, the music in Penny Mordaunt's propaganda video is actually Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" from the Planet Suite and not the composition by Parry.

I'll take your word that "Jupiter" is on the video. A lot of the candidates are certainly off planet i.e. aliens.

There's far more creativity in your link's content than any of the would be "leaders" media offerings.

Can you expand on that? I mean, you may well be right, but interested to know how you got to that definitive conclusion.
