Acun is attempting to significantly improve our team. If it's deemed that Yilmaz is better than Brandon so be it. If Brandon gets the hump and he's on the bench for 60-70% of games as you suggest, he has the option to ask to move on. Football is ruthless!
It's ruthless of course but there should also be an element of being sensible. It'd be like signing a new winger and sitting KLP on the bench for a season. Or dropping Greaves for Figuerido. Why deliberately sink the value of one of your more promising assets if you have more pressing positions to spend money on? Doesn't make much sense to me but I guess that's why I don't own a club.
Acun seems to think the majority of our deals will be done in the next 5/6 days. Potentially hectic week ahead if he has his way.
That's probably where he is at this stage of his development. You can play youngsters too much to their detriment.
Wouldn't be the first time he's been over optimistic on timescales. That said, I'm impressed with the calibre if these targets are correct.
I’m inclined to believe this is probably true. He must’ve had at least some inclination that a couple are getting closer.
It appears we aren't getting Muriqi and Estupinan is on a free so that's a pretty significant saving that can go into a few other positions. I like Fleming and it's not a position I think we need to strengthen, but if a player comes available who's a big upgrade on anyone in our side, you have to do it
True, but finances are finite and it doesn’t make sense to spend that kind of money on a position we have well covered when serious money needs to be spent on, probably, two strikers who always come at a premium.
Gone a bit crazy today, apparently we've also filed a bid for 23 year old winger Doğukan Sinik from Antalyaspor.
There's also some decent players already playing in England. Just saying. It might be good seeing all these fancy names, but I honestly don't think it's the right way to go. Happy to eat humble pie at the end of the year if we are sat in the top 6 - but I cannot see it.
