If we cant find a place for George I would think we would be expecting top 6 finish
The main problem last season was finishing
before that it was defending

ONE of the problems was finishing, ONE of the problems was defending, ONE of the problems was not creating enough.
And George contributed to that.

Never higher in the league than 18th after match 3 despite having one of the most coveted young talents in the league.

I agree, I've said before it's the midfield that needed the most attention. However, we were light up front also, but we didn't really create enough good chances last season.
I genuinely don’t recall Allahyar getting anything other then his goal at Cardiff and the header at Hudds. A creative midfielders dream is a player with pace like Allahyar.

Fulham pushed the boat out with a striker and it paid off
It’s always an issue when your top scorer is your winger IMO and no one is close. Much easier to mark a winger out the game than a striker. Seen it a lot over the last 4 seasons. KLP marked out the game? Lose/draw. Same with Bowen, albeit not as frequent as they also had Grosicki to worry about. A winger can have 2 players on them without any worries really whereas putting 2 on a striker makes huge gaps so no one would ever do it.

I thought the same too but if we're trying to bring in Wright as our main no.9 as Kesler said, I cant see how you bring in Muriqi too.. Unless Shota is going to change formation this season and play with 2 up top?
Oh my lord what a pair those two would be, frighten the living daylights out of almost all championship defenders lol

The problem with most 50 yard passes is that by the time the ball reaches the attacker the defence has time to prepare

Did we let Eaves go because we didnt create the chances for him?

Think that was because he's not really done much in the champ over 2 seasons. It was a lottery where the ball would go everytime he touched it.

We would have kept him if he'd wanted to stay as a squad player though.

And his attitude was unquestionable.

The problem is that TH can make these without looking or thinking.
Other players see this in training then try it on the pitch.
They need 2 touches to get the ball under control then head up to spot the man.
Then as you say the defender is stood there waiting to receive the ball ….or it hits the supporters in row D

Listened to the interview with Tan. Impressed with what he had to say. Signing Baxter has eased the pain of losing Honeyman a bit. I’d still rather have kept Honeyman though and had Baxter signed as well.

I guess you can’t have everything.

have you got a link so I can listen?

I would think that "within the scope" would mean to the end of the current deal with a one year option but that doesnt seem long enough
I wouldnt expect George, our best player, to be out of his depth with the club in two years time
Even if he was I dont think the club should expect that
If a club is in the Championship and hoping to reach the Premier League it always make sense to have good players before we are certain we have better players
He wasn't our best player. One of them, but behind KLP and Greaves for me.
