Yes, but if Haji wants to come somewhere he's going to be the main man, he isn't going to agree to coming if we then bring in a Pesic or Muriqi. The only big name back up I could think of is Tosun because of his injury record. He wouldn't be able to pay 46 games
So... Assume KLP stays, and we have two strikers coming in (Haji plus a big secret), does that mean Sayyadmanesh is a benchwarmer?
Yes, but he's Kosovan and has been around the old footballing globe a fair bit. If he was committed and he signed, he'd literally rip this division apart.
I'm not happy that George has gone but I dont believe he was worried about not getting in the team It must have been that we werent willing to pay enough to keep him He seems the type of player others in the team wouldnt begrudge him getting more
Tan suggested they'd tried to offer a package within the scope of his pre-existing contract, so it could well have been length of contract that was the issue.
I think Tan suggested that Shota sees him on the right of the 3. Tan also bigged up Longman a fair bit, saying he thinks he'll have a good year
The problem is, the average wage in the Championship is crazy, and I'm sure George will be getting £15k a week, or somewhere close, at Millwall. But when we're shopping on the continent, you can get a similar player for an awful lot less
I would think that "within the scope" would mean to the end of the current deal with a one year option but that doesnt seem long enough I wouldnt expect George, our best player, to be out of his depth with the club in two years time Even if he was I dont think the club should expect that If a club is in the Championship and hoping to reach the Premier League it always make sense to have good players before we are certain we have better players
I'd say the quality coming in is seen by the club as a step up. Ultimately Millwall made a better offer for him than we were prepared to.
Do you think £15k is too much for George compared to untried players I know it's a different setup but I can think of a lot of players who we bought from abroad who would struggle in League 2
What a fascinating interview that was, spoke with a lot of common sense and apparent honesty, that'll do for me
When we were in league 2 we weren't signing players with uefa pedigree. Who came in having played at the likes of Monaco, lazio, Fenerbache, got to knock out stages of international tournaments etc. Not to mention actually playing active roles in getting promoted from this league?
If we cant find a place for George I would think we would be expecting top 6 finish The main problem last season was finishing before that it was defending
I'm thinking of players like Nick Proschwitz we were in the championship then he still didnt look like a striker
