Just watching Billy Eilish. Not someone I've really listened to before, but quite enjoying this. Haven't seen any others today, but will be having a look on BBC for highlights etc after this finishes. Looking to catch up on Sleaford Mods, Sigrid and Wolf Alice.
Watched her for a bit but was a bit bored so stuck Foals on instead. Sam Fender would have been a better headliner.
Love Wolf Alice and, boy, do they work hard. Watched Wet Leg earlier who I thought I'd detest on every level ... ... absolutely loved them. They switch from arty-farty lightweights to seriously loud guitar band in seconds ... Breathtaking!!!
I find him sickly but not as much as Paul McCartney ... ... I've always found him incredibly creepy. Sam Fender, how many bands will wear football shirts on stage ffs ... ... why are the Mags so unaware of how shallow they look.
Hadn't really listened to him that much but though the band were really good and some decent songs Can see why some people wouldn’t take to the lad like but he seems a pretty normal bloke. Reckon they could be around for a long time.
Yeah it’s a bit cringy with the flag on stage and the saxophonist wearing the barcode top, but that’s what they do. At least his looked clean.
Really underwhelmed by tomorrows whole lineup. Been to Glastonbury a couple of times and it’s usually a case of sprinting between multiple stages 400 miles apart to see the bands you want. At least there wouldn’t have been much of that tomorrow!
I loved the early Beatles stuff, but i'm not keen on Paul McCartney solo stuff at all. My Dad was a big Beatles fan, so were one of the bands I listened to as a young un. True story....bear with me. Remember the lass he married, Heather Mills? I have known Heather since we were kids, and was good friends with her brother Shane. When they got married, Heather's bridesmaid (Julie) lived two doors from my Mam and Dad's house in Lambton, Washington. Julie's parents were invited to the wedding, and became quite good friends with Paul McCartney. He continued to go up and see them even after he was divorced from Heather. My parents were good friends with her (Julie) parents and would often be in each others house having a few drinks on a weekend. One Saturday night my Mam and Dad were down there having a drink when there was a knock on the door....Paul McCartney!! I was living with my wife and our young baby at the time, and about 10pm ish the phone rang and it was my Dad. Had a bit chat, then he says, hang on someone wants a word.... Bloke comes on the phone, asks how I'm doing, asked about the baby and offered congratulations on the baby. He must have asked about football as it was when I said "no, I'm a Sunderland fan" that the Mrs knew I wasn't talking to my Dad. Probably spent about 10 minutes chatting, said goodbyes, and put the phone down. Mrs says who was that you're talking to? "Paul McCartney". "**** off, who was it" "Paul McCartney" My Dad said he was lost for words when he just walked in, said hello to everyone and joined in and had a few home brews. My Mam told me, after my Dad had died, that when my Dad was ill, that Paul had phoned a few times to ask how he was, and, unknowing to me at the time, sent flowers for the funeral. For all I see of Paul McCartney, I'm still not a fan of his solo music, but I will never forget that. Sorry for the long post, but when I see Paul McCartney mentioned, it always reminds me of my Dad.
Doesn't look capable of making his own breakfast ... .... but responsible for some classic songs across 5 decades.
