I'm a bit hit and miss with Led Zeppelin....some I love, some I can't listen to. I seen Robert Plant on his Principles Of Moments tour, around 1983 I guess. The support band had broke down on the motorway, so plant came on about 8.15ish and played through till about 11.00pm....absolutely brilliant.
As it should be mate. If people play safe you'll like it all to an extent. It's only taking risks that can produce something extraordinary. Just watching St Vincent which, pretty much proves that point.
I know I shouldn't but I compare every Glastonbury to the ones in the 90s when I was really into my music. Some of the line ups were immense compared to now.
Thanks mate, really appreciate that. My Dad died in May 2001, and was bedbound from about January. We only had a downstairs phone....I can just imagine my Mam going up the stairs and saying to my Dad that Paul has rang asking how you were. To this day it just seems so surreal.
Been a bucket loads of times. Been watching the highlights this time round. Glastonbury is a special place. Always good times.
Watched Idles set. I like them - to me they’re a very visual act - really love their energy and stage presence, but I’m not that keen on their music - weird isn’t it? Also enjoyed Wet Leg and Wolf Alice.
Really enjoyed khruangbin. First time I have watched it listened. Nowt else was one during stage changeovers. They were class, cool as. Really good vibes. Wolf Alice were good too. Thought Sam fender sounded class to be fair. Just wish he stopped with this plastic mag behaviour. He is a future headliner though no doubt.
Some great sets yesterday, I'm not sure why so many people get hung up on the big names and comparing things to the past. Just try something and enjoy it for what it is. Foals, Pheobe Bridgers and Wet Leg were all as excellent as I expected them to be. Sam Fender was good. But the one that really stood out for me was Khruangbin. I listened to some of their stuff earlier in the year off the back of a lot of hype - I thought it was good enough, but not really my thing. But that performance yesterday was outstanding. I'll go back and watch Wolf Alice (one of my favourite bands of the last 10 years) today and probably also Little Simz (though it's not usually in my wheelhouse).
Agreed mate....I only knew her voice from the Bond movie sound track. However, last night, her set was amazing. I've watched it twice....very captivating....well impressed.
Just caught up on Wolf Alice - wow! I think I love Ellie a little more every time I see them perform, such a talented woman.
Aye defo. Watched it with the wife yday and she knows I defo have a thing too. We seen them years ago when they first started out. Came on loads since. Proper range to their set now.
Yeah she nailed it. I began listening from afar. Ended up watching the rest with lights off and full 5.1 blasting. New fan here.
