I think that they're in a strong position, as there'll be multiple teams pushing to sign him.To be fair to the spammers Rice is under contract and they can place whatever value they like on him (much as we did with Kane). He is in my opinion an exceptionally good player and he is home grown which always adds a premium, if he was to agitate for move if they miss out on Europe it maybe more difficult to hold on to him but not impossible as we proved. However I am not sure that Gold & Sullivan will able to resist if they receive relatively large offers for him.
They'll be tempted to cash in though, as he's got 2/3 years on his contract.
