If his main motivation is money then League One isn't for you Roy. Best stay in the Sky Sports studio.

Why should his motivation be different to anyone else's though? No other candidate would have come for a reduction in salary. None of us would.

if they couldn't afford him, which should have been sorted immediately, then leave it and get the man sitting waiting, while two games pass away.

Could be worse...."Hi Roy, it's Kristjaan, how do you fancy a zero hours contract"......

Mind it might have been " High Roy. In the interests of full disclosure, and in the context of club dynamics, we would like to consider you for a second interview to discuss our mission statement and vision"

" There month initial term". " Sound good? ".

No way can we compete with his sky wage though so it was doomed from the start if his salary was the issue. But it seems as though it wasn't, looks like length of contract offered was less than 12 months. I wouldn't have left sky for a deal for less than 12 months and they could have found that out long before they spoke directly to him. As you say, they wasted 2 games messing about

And then the phone gets slammed down.........."Roy?, Roy? Are you still there Roy?"

I honestly don't understand the Keane thing. Yes he got us promoted but everybody forgets that he oversaw us putting mediocre players on huge contracts that cost the club dearly in the long run. He motivated players in the short term but that never really seemed to last as players slowly got sick of his attitude. His record at Ipswich was poor and his involvement with Ireland is well documented so apart from the fact he might kick a few up the arse and get them going for the short term I can't really see what he would offer long term. I would much rather we gave the job to Neil who has a decent record and his win ratio in championship is not bad than Keane ( that said I think we may have missed the boat to take a punt on Kisnorbo)
