I also don’t have a line and the likes of Carr and Frankie Boyle push the boundaries of race and other things without being racist etc themselves. Where it gets blurrier is when you have a genuinely racist comedian. If you ban that, which again is debatable, it’s subjective what falls into what category.

Maybe it shouldn’t be allowed on tv, or allowed on before a stricter time than the regular watershed.

Again mate, couldn’t agree more with you. I mean if you look back at Bernard Mannings stuff…it was vile, hate filled ****……and I didn’t find it funny at all. But I guess it’s the way he delivered his stuff…..it seemed so filled with hate.
I’m assuming Carrs Netflix show was an 18 rating.

It' dark humour - and if that's what you've paid your money for then you can't complain. I saw Frankie Boyle a few years ago - he was a complete ****, but then we knew he was gonna be before we went so got exactly what we expected.

Next thing they'll be banning Midget Gems....oh, hang on a minute <laugh> didn't you have beef with M&S over that wee man? <laugh><laugh>

M and S and fascist bastards :).
It’s weird with Frankie Boyle……I should really like his stuff but I really can’t stand the ****

There was a programme on tv a while back asking different comedians what they would find offensive and wouldn’t use in their shows…..and each gave a different answer, which I found really interesting

The edgiest comedy always gets a laugh - you'll have seen it in your line of work, gallows humour....always gets you through the toughest of times

Absolutely……it’s the way to get over stuff and detach yourself. Like when on an arrest having a mate split his trousers and trying no to piss myself while trying to save someone life….

Old joke.....two squaddies on patrol, and one steps on a landmine. Screaming, he yells out "I've lost my ****ing leg"....his mate then quips in.."No you haven't mate, it's over here!" <laugh><laugh>

Boom, boom - I'm here all week!

I’ve mentioned it before but if anyone is interested in the subject of taboo comedy they should watch a film called “The Last Laugh” which is all about if you can laugh at the Holocaust.
Has a great piece in it where an Auschwitz survivor tells a joke about the crematorium…very funny but sad at the same time.
Well worth watching
