Keep sending her out Boris, she's only adding to the damage. How anyone in their right mind votes for someone as despicable as her is beyond me. Nasty, petulant and thick as mince.
That they won't change[/QUOTE] She is that crap that it becomes entertaining to listen to her. Totally out of her depth!
I'm glad our energy prices are going to double even and we allow the likes of shell to make 19.4 billion pound profits
Didn’t know where to put this so here goes Just got in from a Night Shift and wanted to share the tale of the most amazing lady I met tonight….93 years old and still going strong. While my colleague was dealing with her condition and needs, I started to ask her about her life…..turns out this lady had been one of the bravest people I had the pleasure of meeting. Born in Poland and was 12 years old when her town was taken over by the Nazis….her mother, father and brother were arrested and deported and she unsuccessfully tried to buy their freedom with the family jewellery, recalling how she scratched the German officers face when he stole the jewellery instead. She spoke of the Jews in her town who her rounded up and made to run around the square until the SS shot them all. She then travelled to Warsaw and took part in the uprising there in 1944, when she was 16 years old…proudly telling me how she shot many of the enemy until she was captured and sent to the Strafflager Penal camp at Oberlangen, until being liberated in 1945, going on to become a dispatch courier in Italy for a Polish general To say her story had me emotional and a bit tearful was an understatement….she remembered every detail, to which I was able to check out on the internet, pulling up pictures of her during the war. Why am I putting this here ? Maybe to show people that while these elders might look like they’ve done f*** all and are now a burden to society…..that couldn’t be further from the truth and many really have had the most amazing lives….. Night all
So Jimmy Carr tells a joke about gypsies and he gets **** for it…..on a stand up show where he implicitly states that the show is all about pushing the boundaries of stand up comedy and going out to be ‘offensive’. And as he said in an interview about the show, it was strange how different people found different things offensive after each show. So far no outrage from the cancer sufferers, dwarves or disabled kids.
I’m with you but at the same time where do you draw the line? Do you even need a line if it’s explained at the beginning there’s no line? Personally I love his humour and the other darker stuff. If it’s a gig where it’s very clear that’s on the menu, then for me it’s all good.
Thats a great point Bracknell….and imho, it’s all about individual choice as to where you draw the line. My personally I have no line and nothing should be off limits for humour. As he states in the show, just ‘cos he makes a joke about rape…it doesn’t believe he agrees with rape. I think he’s started a great debate in this subject…..just a shame he might have ****ed up his career in doing so
I also don’t have a line and the likes of Carr and Frankie Boyle push the boundaries of race and other things without being racist etc themselves. Where it gets blurrier is when you have a genuinely racist comedian. If you ban that, which again is debatable, it’s subjective what falls into what category. Maybe it shouldn’t be allowed on tv, or allowed on before a stricter time than the regular watershed.
It' dark humour - and if that's what you've paid your money for then you can't complain. I saw Frankie Boyle a few years ago - he was a complete ****, but then we knew he was gonna be before we went so got exactly what we expected. Next thing they'll be banning Midget Gems....oh, hang on a minute didn't you have beef with M&S over that wee man?
