I'll await the scarf photos with baited breath!
I'd take him stood outside Greggs on the Green holding up a steak bake. Love JD me.

It was the case, there were a couple of other issues, I think his agent thought we were desperate for him and didn't realise we were looking at different options, I do think had he signed straight away things may have turned out differentI'd imagine his problem was his agent, as is so often the case.
This is the thing I have never understood
Sell us in the PL and we go for what? £200m?
Cover another year of £20m losses, reinvest the Pickford money and get us back up then sell
But instead he took £40m for the club and paid off £110m in debt
There has to be some other story there because those numbers don't add up

Aye, but spend a grand and put a new engine in and you might sell it for 2.5k instead of just sending it for scrapI'd imagine Sunderland became to Short like a car you just can't sell sat on the drive to us. In the end you just want rid.
Don't forget to factor in shorts crap decision making, and total inability to run a football club.

RTG has reached PM stage, I expect bannings, offering outs and burst blood vessels to follow.
And hopefully the odd Kiev recipe bandied about.

Respect to you mate.....but all I'm saying is - if we do get a CM...and another two CF's....and one of those is the choice of the Board, then LJ has to get on with the job in hand.I really do hope not. Any decision on 1st team players has to have the agreement of the head coach. If not it is a recipe for disaster IMO. If it were to be the case I would really question the motivation of those above Johnson making the decision. I am all for the recruitment team working as a unit and targets coming to light based on things other than a managers black book, we know that fails, but it still has to be a type of player the coach feels can have an impact, otherwise Johnson may as well not put him in the matchday squad if he doesnt want him as a player.
Signing JD could prove a coup for all and sundry as long as the manager cannot be expected to indulge him , his playing time has to be to benefit the team not the management team and the fans , I think he would be beneficial to have around the team and mentoring the younger players . In fairness he has always looked after himself fitness wise and would be an excellent impact substitute if you were looking for inspiration and a goal - could you imagine the opposition thinking NOW what the hell do we do here . The lift to the fans could and should be inspiring but he has to earn his place at all times !!!I really do hope not. Any decision on 1st team players has to have the agreement of the head coach. I have reservations about how he'd fit in, but none of us know whether he still has his pace and his touch. Assuming he hasn't lost too much then he could absolutely be an asset. Stick him on for last 20 mins in any of our last 4 games and he's taking some of those chances that we missedSigning JD could prove a coup for all and sundry as long as the manager cannot be expected to indulge him , his playing time has to be to benefit the team not the management team and the fans , I think he would be beneficial to have around the team and mentoring the younger players .
