Dykes is still learning the game, but has improved a lot with us and can improve further. Certainly not good enough for the Premier at this stage, but may be in the future. Any PL club making an offer now would be basing it on the fact that he's already scoring goals in the Championship and at International level and has scope to improve. I'd say we should be looking for £10m.

Unbelievably he did get injured, you couldn't make it up we're cursed. Looking at Hamer or Westwood or Woodman now. I wouldn't really fancy Woodman after some of tge errors he made for Swansea earlier this season

Just saw the same on a second rate media source and did have a giggle. Dykes is a good player and I'm glad we have him, but imagine being bought by Saudi billionaires and one of your first signings being 'QPR's Lyndon Dykes.'

We would know the truth of it depending on if he's a left or right winger

I didn't say if he was good enough for the PL or not. At his best he could be next season among the lower placed Clubs - like ourselves if we do the business this season! But he is a player who has obviously improved immensely over the last few years, from an Australian beach Club to our and Scotlands 1st choice No 9. He seems strong, determined, ambitious and his technical skills are improving continually, so he could go a long way. With us I hope and certainly this season.

    Just looked it up
    17 goals from 53 appearances
Is that good for a main striker

To be fair to him that has involved a step up in class. So he hasn’t done so bad. It’s whether he can continue to improve - as mentioned he does seem to have the drive and ambition and he has come a considerable way in a reasonably short period.
Time will tell where his peak level is. He certainly needs to do better, but I’d like to see him make it for our benefit as well as the income to the club in the future.

I think in another team he'd have more goals. The way we set up to play is generally terrible for strikers. Slow build up, lack of through passes, lack of crosses. He is the one striker who has adapted best to that. I think he's good, and is growing.

    Not sure about this.

Can't be arsed to look it up, but I thought we were near the top of the stats for shots on goal and chances created?
We miss an awful lot of chances.

It's a fair point. However, how good are all of these chances. When he's properly 1 on 1 with a keeper and has the ball at his feet, he usually finishes well.

Anyway, I'm just saying I think he's a good player but needs to be utilised properly. I'm not saying he's up there with the best, though.

But my main point is that any striker would probably struggle at QPR right now.

    Fair enough.
I like him, but possibly don't rate him as highly as you do.
I want him to prove me wrong over and over again.

I actually think a Charlie Austin, when he was with us first time around, standard striker would get lots of goals playing ahead of Chair, Willock and Johansen. I agree we could do with more good quality crosses, but a fit Wallace gets round the back a lot as does Adomah.

Our problem is we rely on the two players you mention (Adomah & Wallace) to send in those crosses, but we don't have enough through balls (whether flat or looped) coming from the midfield. Chair and Willock seem to always keep the ball and try to shoot on their own.
