Feck me.......... £20m...... seriously?????? 30 years old 18 months left on his contract no resale value....... they are becoming us circa 2013 quicker than I thought they would....... Burnley must be laughing all the way to the bank, they'll have a shed load of cash when they relegated this season.........
I am a tad concerned that Burnley might try and get Dykes as a replacement now, sort of player they'd go for perhaps. Can see them going up to 10-12 mill for him, but hopefully not. At least not until the summer
Tomorrow's Thursday.....and Jermaine Defoe is a free agent! Just saying https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59969995
Sweet jesus. Hes a big lad. Worked with him at Leeds many moons ago. A decent outlet, designed for a certain style of play. 20m no way, i would have thought around 5m tops.
Always liked woodsy If he scores a few to get them to 17th be money well spent Pity we didn't get him for a million all those years ago
Apparently they paid £25m for him and only a 2-year contract. Sounds way too much! Money over sense. As said if he gets them out of relegation it will be considered worthwhile.
As much as I dislike Burnley and Dyche, Woods is a decent target man imo. In today's market, maybe worth 7.5 million? I'd take him ahead of Dykes or Gray. Newcastle are clearly going to try to spend their way out of trouble and will end up paying double or treble what a player is worth. As we all know, they're going to struggle to find the right players in the January transfer window.
Apparently signed an ex spud youth Rafferty Pedder till the end of the season. Granted he’s going into the academy but with flip all else happening it’s the closest thing we got to transfer news.
Being serious for a minute, it would be a mad signing. But he could probably still do a job. He's only 32 and looks in better shape than when he was last with us (he was fat when last with us!). The pros: would replace Chair whilst away would likely be a significant improvement on Chair might get a few more goals would put bums in seats The cons: might disrupt the balance and discipline of the squad, although is probably more mature than he used to be (haven't heard any bad stories about him recent years) might not be the best role model for younger players might not have the motivation or care much (although maybe he would put in extra effort because of the good memories?) is probably too expensive for us
Well if he wants to prove a point he could do it on the cheap. You’re spot on though the squad disruption is a risk we can’t take. Financially speaking we are punching well above, so we have a decent squad and can’t risk it.
Jake Bidwell sold from Swansea to Coventry. Todd Kane and Jake on Saturday....such joy for the booboys, I hope they do not come back to haunt us
