I see that he is only 18. Just the sort of age one would like for a player to break out.
Yep. Will be like a boy playing against men. He's been at Spalding as his next development. I wish him well, and hope he surprises if he get's his unexpected chance via covid / injuries, but reality is he's not ready.

Anyone remember how this compares to past prices at Boothferry Park. Say Boxing Day 1965?
Recall it was 1/- and 6p, one shilling and sixpence, about 8p in todays money for kids under 16 in 1965. So I would guess the price for an adult would have been about half a crown, two shillings and sixpence, about 25p today. By 1970 and because of decimalisation the price jumped up to 40p for adults and as a result our crowds took a hit.

Blackpool is the end of the line. It is the English Siberia. It is pure torture. Hateful, tasteless, witless, bleak, boring, dirty, tat — It has nothing. I loathe every disgusting minute of it.

I'm with Kenneth.

What a surprise, just the kind of post we come to expect from you tbh.... You have to put a negative slant on him after everyone else is positive. Just tell me how much have you seen of him to say he's not ready? He has some cracking attributes already and is a great option to have in times like this imo

two shillings and sixpence is 12.5p in post-decimal currency.

I thought in 1970 it was 30p which to put it in context was the cost of about 3 pints. I had a season pass for 70/71 season but cannot remember what that cost.
Hope the game tomorrow doesn't get called off at the last minute. We all know what happens with last minute call offs at Blackpool at this time of the year. Carnage resulting in front page news in the daily papers, police trying to pin jewellery robberies on people, questions in Parliament and the first 2 people having to report to police stations at kick off time under new regulations which had just been brought in,

Loved the many times I went to Blackpool especially as a kid when I was taken by my mum to see the illuminations. In adulthood I went to see shows at the Tower Ballroom including pantomimes when acts such as Frankie Howard, Morecombe and Wise, Tommy Cooper and others featured. Never went on holiday there.

Will watch a replay of the match over breakfast (kippers again) and hope to see a win to celebrate the imminent change in ownership.

A Happy and healthy 2022 to all on here.

Yep, a post based in fact and reality. Refreshing eh. I'll post as I see it thanks. I've seen him for academy and I've been watching football 50 odd years. He's a prospect for sure but a few were getting carried away.

I was there for that. I think it was a League Cup match. We were in a temporary stand at the side of the pitch. It was Caleb Folan's first game for us, I think. He was far too fast and clever for the Blackpool defence so they just flattened him at every opportunity.

I think the stand was made from scaffolding

We've received an 'official' apology from the EFL's head of referees re the Notts Forest non penalty.... does that mean we get a point back or is todays referee made aware that one of his colleagues made an 'error of judgement' and he should bare it in mind...?

Looking forward to seeing who turns out today, no idea who's available or not.
