Besides Cross rail and HS2 anyone just realise that two more underground stations have been opened in London at a cost of £1.2billion! keep it quiet don’t they and the final decision on HS2 - they’d already started the station and prep work about two years ago - levelling up my arse!
Not exactly a secret, it was announced in 2014 and there was always a plan to extend the tube when the Battersea Power Station site was developed (the developer covered over ten percent of the cost), it's a hell of site, they're spending £9b on it.
You won’t see the nationals and tv London centric media , and political parties mentioning these investments when supposedly proposing to level up . Taken us 15-20 years to to get castle street money and then it’s a budget job . There are two countries here London and the ‘rest’
It’s a development for the benefit of the public, but not actually funded by them…
The cost of the extension was £1.1bn, under budget by £160m. It was funded by the private sector, including the developers of Battersea Power Station, with contributions from other developments across the Vauxhall, Nine Elms and Battersea area.
There’s a lot more investment in London, as investors know they’ll get their money back with interest. Sadly, we don’t enjoy that luxury.
Like I said London a country of its own , it’s why the Eu countries hate us so much they look at London and think it’s all like that over here. Talked to so many professionals and academics in Nthn Europe and it’s the only place they refer to. Whilst the poorer EU nations just want to screw up very penny from us . When the Poles have got all they can from the EU they’ll be off .
Should have spent a tad more, was in Nine Elms today, and on tonight's London equivalent of Look North they reported the lifts aren't big enough for some wheelchairs, and the doors close too quickly.
genuinely dont think ive driven past 1 petrol station in past week where people are queing out on the road , filled up twice with no waiting , sure Good Morning Britain just pay people to que up
It seems to be more a southern thing, I've been to London twice this week and both time saw huge queues and fuel stations with no fuel
There was queues on Sunday in Manchester, cones & tape blocking off pumps, then by now they’ve realised how stupid it was & voila, no queues.
all queing for shattered dreams parkway and backstabbing central..
Strange as they have by far the best public transport in the UK yet are desperate to drive, is their still a Covid fear of travelling on the tube?
Definitely more of an issue in the south than the north, though I noticed that two of the petrol stations I passed going to and from the game on Tuesday night were closed.
Doctors/nurses are getting a registered petrol station where they'll get petrol appointments so they don't have to queue/get rationed.
Hopefully, the petrol stations will keep them on the phone for an hour, before telling them there's nothing available for the next two weeks.
Nope, it's busy on there, but a large proportion of the ****s aren't mask wearing.
