I couldn't disagree more. I don't think City try at all. In fact I think it's almost arrogant how little effort the club puts into getting people to go.

There's occasionally a small billboard campaign or something and that's about it. How many football fans in Hull know when and where City are playing or how much it would cost? I bet hardly any of those who don't already go regularly, know how cheap a kids ticket is, or how affordable the memberships are for adults. There's a rich untapped market of local football fans who don't go to City, why aren't they bombarded with information and incentives to come? In any other industry they would be.

There was the Derby and Chelsea games in 19/20 season where they made the prices really attractive and the crowds were way up. As an absolute minimum starting point, why are we not doing that again as frequently as league regulations will allow?

Ehab could be out and about on his bike distributing leaflets.

The queue on the right is very wonky. Terrible behaviour from the Hull City fans.

Is this where Hull City hooligans originated from? Shocking scenes
Someone in the middle of the line to their left had been eating curried eggs (to excess) the previous night !

That was a long time before kick off as it was an evening game as well. How did people manage to stand up for hours with no beers on sale, no phones to keep them occupied...?

Absolutely

Not I’d see it at half time because I’m too busy explain for the fourth time what bitter is

…not that I’m bitter!

seriously though I don’t know what is on at half time but presumably if kids games go on at half time that would be a way to get their parents in the ground too?
I think that there is one thing we may all agree on … any new owner needs to get a bloody good marketing team.

Different seasons. Also Chelsea got more tickets for the Cup game.

Obviously different seasons but I don't see what difference that makes. We got 3,000 more fans for cheap tickets vs Chelsea than we did for just playing Chelsea. Cheap tickets filled the ground.

Would I be correct in thinking that was the Chelsea replayed game in '66 ? Hitch-hiked to both games from Leeds. Brilliant team performance at The Bridge (Waggy earned us the replay) and the replay had Osgood back ( he'd missed the Saturday match) and he made the difference.
Wonderful memories.

We must have played them just a bit too early, as I remember "Osgood was good, now he's no good".

I think people wanting to see some big names in a season of dross was more the reason. Who knows for certain?
