****e draw. This fixture looks 50/50. We have a decent chance of progressing, though.

One of my first ever away games was QPR.

1991 or so I guess, lost 3-2 I think.

A place I've never been to....and I'm in the Lakes that week so I won't be going then.

we deserved a home tie for a change like...could have been 'better' but i think a nice chance to progress, the lads have nowt to lose and can go and have fun.

We've allowed the domestic cups to become less important because of the money involved in getting to/staying in the PL ...

... Bruce saw Newcastle slip out of this cup because he daren't lose key players in their relegation battle.

How sad for a club that's won nowt since 1955.
Same as the cup winners cup, and even the europa league. Its not about winning silverware anymore it all cash.
Given the choice most bigger clubs would prefer to get as far as getting out of the group stages in the champions league than they would of winning the europa league simply because there is more money involved.

My first away match was a defeat at Loftus Road . . . . in the F.A. Cup 3rd round on Saturday 3rd January, 1970 when the result was QPR 4-1 South Shields :(

It was a long journey home after the Cockney twats had smashed a few of our coach windows, too (when winters were real winters)

My eldest son was Sunderland mascot for that game ....

.... beat Norman with a penalty in the warm up.

We were taken to meet the Sunderland players, pre-match, and Bracewell was having a series of injections into his messed up legs. While he was having them he was chatting away to us and signing autographs <laugh>

Great draw for us. They are an established Championship side so will be a good benchmark as to where we need to be.

They attack, especially at home, and aren't a bunch of cloggers.

If we come away having scored a couple, entertained the fans and without any injuries I'll be well pleased.

I think I'll go to it anyway ...

.... just hope the imbecile with the sombrero is within pie hurling distance.

I wonder if he nicked it off @Somebodys pinched my sombrero

I will go as well if I can.
