I'd love it to happen but I'm going to assume it's not. It'd be nice to think a player would quit playing for Monaco and join us in L1 for the love of the club but that's not how footballers operate in my experience.

You never know though, there could be scope in the plans for a marquee signing to spend a big fee and wages on if it's guaranteed to work out.

Weirdly enough I was thinking about Mannone yesterday, what with all the Burge debate.

Me too, mate. I can't imagine Monaco being desperate to hold on to him now and with all things considered surely a loan could be the way to go with Mannone, even if Monaco insert a recall clause incase they have a goalkeeper injury crisis, that would be fine with me for a keeper of his standard in this league.

I must be in the minority that think Vito was just an ok keeper. He was nothing special. A bit better than burge but nothing more. Think Burge’s distribution is better unless Vito has improved massively

You've raised a good point there, mind. Vito's distribution was garbage!

I think shot stopping and controlling his area he's a few levels above Burge tbh.

Just opinions mate. I just always thought he struggled commanding his area. He’s better keeper than burge definitely but his distribution was rubbish. Burge is much better in that department UNLESS Vito has improved himself

A few different views on fishpaste at rr over the road, I don't know anything about him tbh so what are posters views on here of him. Does he find out things or is he bb

he doesn't normally "appear" to hear things (he may well do - just not share them).

But I know he's had quite a lot of communication with David Preece in the past, and Preece has now come in and hinted in an interview that our goalkeepers are strong enough "even if we don't strengthen", which to me implies we are looking to strengthen if possible.

Fishpaste has also a few times over the last 2 weeks or so hinted that he knows we are after a keeper.

So, putting 2 and 2 together and getting 326. It could be that he knows Preece.

Or it could be entirely something different

To be honest I think if he’d stayed in our championship season instead of the clusterfuck goalkeepers we had we wouldn’t have been relegated mate.
