I can only think that LJ knows Grigg is away before the next home game. How can he go and warm up on the pitch after that? After such a positive start to the season and a great atmosphere V Wigan, surely they wouldn't want to risk it turning a bit sour against Grigg for the AFC Wimbledon game.

What's the point of him being at 50% or 60% in training. How does that help create intensity for the defenders if he is just ****ing about. Bellend.

Hayden is a cracking young player.
Hopefully he's exactly the kind of signing we are looking at in future and not the Griggs of this world
Deemed not good enough by Arsenal but developed to prove everyone wrong.

Yes he is mate. He's been homesick for a couple of years now but just got his head down and grafted until it can happen.
If Grigg actually made an effort and made other teams take notice he'd have some offers on the table by now.
Hes doing himself no favours being a moody unprofessional tw@t.

Spot on
This season with the new style of play that should suit him more and after a successful time at MK Dons
I really thought he might knuckle down even if it was just to get a move away.
But watching him after he scored the last minute winner v Hull pre season all the other players were buzzing but he couldn't give a ****.
Really think we should bite the bullet and cut our losses with this one. He must be like a black cloud in the changing room.

Ross did not want him, and told Donald so.. Ross had wanted Maja, Donald fannyed around making him a decent offer...the rest as they say is history.

In a way Ross was the fall guy for this...

Yes and we looked set to go up with Maja.
I wonder if Ross not playing a striker in the final was his way of showing Donald up ?
Clutching at straws i know but I've always struggled to make sense of that decision.

As others have said, it is rare for a manager to be so damning about a contracted player. Shows Johnson has a brutal side which is needed in his profession. Cant see him ever featuring again.

Earlier this week I was suggesting he might chip in with a few from the bench and other posters put me right. Shows what I know eh <laugh>
Me too mate. I have always put it down to him being low on confidence. Looks like I was wrong too.

Should t even be on the bench anymore for me. If he wants out let him pay up his contract and **** off. If not let the Kernt rot. I wouldn’t even pick him in the 23’s.
Exactly. I wouldn't want his attitude infecting the young lads one bit.

homesick for the midlands ffs, couple of hours drive away...anyone else think he was basically pushed out of the door after SD's amazing negotiating skills?

although i have said many times, the bloke is meant to be a professional and has been employed by the club, therefore it would make sense for him to do his best and put himself in the 'shop window'..but then, at 30 where is he going to get anywhere near the wedge he gets here, might as well do nowt and get paid for it while he can.

it is time the rules around footballers contracts were changed so a club can just get rid of a player (employee) just as any other business can get rid of an employee if he does not do his job, i find it mental that a club can shell out a ridiculous transfer fee which usually means high wages yet a player can just let the contract run out and walk away.

Yeah. Clearly had enough of the lazy day to day behaviour. Absolute toast here now.
Good to see a bit of hardball being played by the club. Best and final offer to Hume plus these comments about Grigg. I can see this being the start of things ramping up a bit on the ins and outs.

Agree mate. Hume is a divvy to be fair. Had a very good offer well before his contract was close to being expired. Turned it down. Then went out of form and got injured so the club reduced terms. Now stuck in limbo.

It’s his own stupid fault imo. Got zero sympathy for bang average players pissing us about.

I’m chuffed the club have finally grown a pair imo.

If the whispers I've heard are correct the club have a Plan A and a Plan B for Grigg but no Plan C which would involve keeping him.

Plan A is that they've already come to an agreement to pay him off.

Plan B is that they're keeping that quiet until the end of the window in the hope they can loan/sell him.

I'm not always comfortable with what Johnson says but I doubt he could've pitched his statement any better.

He's absolutely shamed Grigg, while pretending not to, and told other clubs he's up for grabs.

I haven't been told the next bit so it's a bit of informed guesswork.

'If Grigg refuses to leave he'll be paid off and we'll retain his registration until the end of his contract'.

..... which would probably suit the lazy sod <doh>

I could actually see the last bit happening. I don't think any team will match the wages he'll be on so I can't see him being bought, maybe another loan may suit all parties? We get some of his wages off the bill and just let him wind down his contract somewhere else
